Badly yes, but boldly.
This goes along with my previous thread. ?I decided to take matters in my own hand and sculpt my own CofC figs. After several false starts and a lot of frustration I finally finnished my first ever mini. ?Some of the proportions are a bit off and some of the detail is a bit muddy, but all and all I like the way he turned out.
Here he is, noted Occultist and paranormal investigator Ambrose Hale.

Actually I enjoyed doing this one alot and have already started a second. ?I'm hoping they get better as I go.

I second that. Wish I could do something like that. And wish I could get me some dentist's tools so I could try.  :(

Superb first try Meng!
I've never quite finished any of my 100% sculpts, but they will probably not end up looking as good as that when I do!

As for dentist tools, Heresy miniatures sells a pack which is VERY useful with a good selection of shapes.

Have a look HERE

SeekerMeng,

I think the sculpt looks very good.

Have you thought about selling it to a company?

Their always looking for new molds.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Damn for a first time try thats really good.  I have enough problems playing around with green stuff.  You mention other tries, where they the same figure or other ideas you had ?

All my previous tries were on this model. My biggest problem stems from the material I'm using right now.  I ordered some greenstuff several weeks ago, it's not arrived.  I'm doing my minis right now in stuff called super sculpy.  It's a bakable polymer clay.  I've used it for a long time, but never for this application.  In it's raw form it's like soft wax.  The trouble is it gets softer as you work with it.  It also has next to no adhesive quality.  This makes it nearly impossible to build on an armiture.  you have to sculpt a section at a time, bake it, scupt the next section, ect...  Then I stick all the pieces together fill any gaps with plumbers putty.
It's just a pain.
I'm hoping my greenstuff gets here soon.

Hi!

From someone like me who doesn't know diddly about sculpting I'd say its pretty good.

Also, doing the "human" form is quite difficult to get perfect.

Have you tried sculpting vehicles....oh say

...some epic sized ones.... :;):  :;):

If my greenstuff ever arrives I'm gonna try my hand at some 6mm vehicles, maybe even some infantry.

If you ever do try sculpting 6mm...

Then perhaps some kind of fan based production could be created?

Ending the reliance on certain major commerical companies to provide our miniatures and providing a more solid and fan controlled base to get them from.

E.g.: Models not suddenly going OOP...

there are two problems I see with doing 6mm minis.  The first is detail.  Lacking the ability to mechanically reduce a larger master you would have to work in scale.  Not a huge issue for vehicles, but infantry might be difficult. In that they may lack the detail ppl are used too.  Secondly, If you are doing proxy pieces you are walking kind of a weird line.  You have to produce something ppl will except for say a chaos flyer without infringing on anyones licenses.
