Some friends of mine and myself are are developing a miniatures horror table top game. It will follow Lovecraftian lines. Investigator vs. cultists and or monsters. It is scenario-based and goal-driven.

Between the lot of us we have a good collection of old Call of Cthulhu monster minis, but what we are lacking is investigators, police, military and vehicles, etc..

Does anyone know of a good source for generic "moderns" minis, 25 or 30mm?

Any help would be appreciated.

Go to Major General Tremorden Rederring's Colonial-era Wargames Page.  Sorry I can't give you the link direct. Go to the Figures link/page.  This is a great site and it seems these guys have a lot of Fun !  It's a good mix of history, alternate-history and a little fantasy thrown in. This is kind of the way I see Epic should be.  A good mix of Sci-fi, reality and a little fantasy.  Hopefully we all have this much fun "Epicing" !!!  Some great modeling on this site too and some good humor and of course - Kipling !!!     Jimbo, you might like this site too, out of the Victorian era, just like we talked about before and fits in with your recent post.   God Save the Queen !!!

I recommend going to TMP. You can find anything you want there.

I hope you include Zombies in your game! Every year when I go to miniatures conventions, I play in the Zombie game that some guys from Fresno bring. Every year it's a kick.

There are quite a number of Zombie manufacturers out there.

Between the lot of us we have a good collection of old Call of Cthulhu monster minis, but what we are lacking is investigators, police, military and vehicles, etc..

The Call of Cthulhu line has most of these items. There's a pretty neat mini manufacturer called Pulp Minis or something like that. Check them out at TMP.

How "modern" do you want it to be?

I would check out:

Copplestone Casting's Future Wars Line:
http://www.gisby.org/copplestone.htm

Wargames Foundry's Street Violance Line:
http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/main.asp

This website has a lot of modern military figure review/compair info:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/neil.shuck/mmfsgfr.html

Pulp Figures has some good character models:
http://www.pulpfigures.com/main.php

Cannon Fodder Miniatures has some good civilians that would work:

I think I will stop for now. I tend to go crazy sometimes :-)

Awsome and thanks to everyone.
Of course there'll be zombies Maksim, can't have good horror without them.  We're trying to capture a pulpy feel with this idea.  We want to try to blend the horror genre with a table top skirmish and it gives me another excuse to paint.

After cruising about the above sites, I got to wondering.  Has anyone done any sculpting of their own?  I've never done any sculpted pieces though I have sculpted on pieces.  Another question what's the "working" time of greenstuff?  I've never used it.
