Made a new cruiser from one I bought over the weekend. Stats below. Pic is here. Havok class Heavy Cruiser Cost: 230 Type/Hits: Cruiser/8 Speed: 25 cm Turn: 45' Shields: 2 Turrets: 2 Armor: 5+ Armament: Range : Firepower/Strength : Fire Arc P/S Weapon Battries: 45 cm : 6 : Left/Right P/S Lance Batteries: 60 cm : 2 : Left/Right Dorsal Lance Batteries: 60 cm : 2 : Left/Front/Right Prow Weapon Batteres: 60 cm : 6 : Left/Front/Right Famous Ships Mayhem ? - ? Bloodbath ? - ? Bloodshed ? - ? Killing Tide Notes: The Havok class heavy cruisers are part of a rare class of warship. They were the last design using the standard hull at the time before the changeover into the now popular armored prow hull. The Adeptus Mechanicus incorporated the very best of weapon battery and lance technology to create the most versatile gunship the Imperium had ever seen. With the technology being lost and with the desertion to Chaos and loss of majority of the class to combat, it is doubtful they will ever be seen again. Two sister ships, Bloodbath and Bloodshed, turned traitor in M36 and have wreaked a trail of carnage throughout the whole of Segmentum Obscuras. They were last seen during the 13th Black Crusade of Abaddon, playing an instrumental role in the destruction of St. Jospin's Hope. Special: The ?Mayhem can replace her prow weapon batteries for strength 2, range 60 cm Prow Lance Batteries with?Front only firing arcs at no points cost. Author's note: Easy enough to build. Just put 1 weapon battery bitz and 1 lance battery bitz on each of the side weapon bays then add dorsal lance turrets. Happy New Year to everyone! |

Is this the Seditio Opprimere I see before me...? ![]() Kidding, but the option to mount up to S6 60cm Lances in one direction seems a bit too much instinctinvely as a 'knee-jerk' reaction given the Mayhem upgrade. Based on the actual weapons on the ship, I'd have said: Fp10 P/S at 60cm S1 P/S at 60cm S2 Dorsal(FLR) at 60cm FP6 Prow(FLR) at 60cm Or something slightly closer to that(though toned down so as not to achieve a nice FP16 broadside, this'd be done by breaking down the FP 10 into FP6 at 60 or 45cm and FP 4 at 30-60cm so as to balance out). That said, if you field your Slaughter Class Cruisers in that 'broadside' armament then 1- Your a fool ![]() and 2- You starts are probably slightly closer to fitting the model than mine are |

Don't worry. It's a work in progress. ![]() FP10 WB at 60 is too much. Even the Carnage only had Fp4@60 cm. EDIT: Ok so I fixed the prow lance to fire forward only. ![]() |

Yeah, the prow only upgrade makes sense to me. Seems plausible and fair enough I suppose! You didn't clarify, however, what your form is on the Slaughter pattern. It seems perfectly viable to me that it could work as a bit of a 'new' cruiser. S1 Lances(long ranged), with a nicely beefy ranged weapons output. FP8(10?) 45cm, S1 60cm for broadsides. S2 Dorsal FLR, S2 Prow F both 60cm. That is going on the 'basis' that Chaos 'heavy' cruisers aren't quite as impressive as Imperial equivalents. |

Don't want to make it follow the Slaughter pattern. Might be too powerful having FP8@45 cm WBs although having FP2@45cm is a trade off for the Str1@60 cm lance you propose. FP14 within 45 cm is kinda heavy. That's why I basically took the FP6@45cm side weaponry and the FP6@60 cm prow weaponry of the Carnage and the Str2@60cm lance of the Devastation. Then added the dorsal lance. I could bring the side weapon battery firepower down to 5 I suppose. Feels weird though. ![]() |

Its build the same as my Slaughters with the exception of dorsal turrets. IMHO you should follow the Slaughter! P/S weapon batteries 8 - 30cm P/S lance batteries 2 - 30cm Prow weapon batteries 6 - 45cm LFR Dorsal lance batteries 2 - 45cm LFR Close combat ship. |

No, I prefer my stats. ![]() Even if I did decide to make a heavy cruiser Slaughter, I would keep the dorsal lances at 30 cm. The extra range would just be wasted, even if the prow WBs range were increased to 45 cm and the addition of which would be enough to lower the speed to 25 cm, in my opinion, resulting in a neither here nor there ship. I prefer a mid to long ranged gunship. ![]() |
