Well, it's gonna have to come round at some point, and I thought to myself: How do I do this and make it work? Well, to avoid having to create up new rules, I'm thinking: A Hero based around a Vengence hull! Proposal: 1 Tau Booster Pack + 1 Vengence Class Grand Cruiser = 1 Humanified Hero How do I propose to go about this? Well: 1- Variety of Railguns top deck on a Chaos lancedeck, or plugged into holes made on the Vengence itself(either the vengence 'deck', or the plain hull) 2- Ion Cannons on the bottom in an Imperial Lance 'block'. 3- In behind all that try and fit in some Tau Launch Bays, or 'tau-ify' the Imperial ones 4- Proceed to 'mark' the ship if needed o make it look a bit more 'proper' 5- Paint it up alongside my Tau Fleet ![]() So, do you think it'll work? Well, given the relatively few ex-Naby capital ships that are actually in serviceable condition in the Empire, I was planning on using a Rogue Trader cruiser and the accompanying rules. (Probably shouldn't have put those launch bays and nova cannon on the Kar Duniash model, then!) I guess using it as a stand-in for a Hero could work (maybe state that only the cosmopolitan Dal'yth Sept can use such a model as a Hero stand-in, given its heavy involvement with the human presence in the Empire) Gary |

Dal'yth?! I'm thinking that this is the 'Flagship' of Humano-Tau relations, the epitomy of Humans service for the Greater Good. I suppose, it could obviously be Dal'yth based, but this is to be a juggernaught for propoganda(for all you conspiracy theorists), or a true triumph of the Greater Good for everyone else. Otherwise though, it's Rogue Trader Cruisers all the way IMO. I already have two(one built, one in dry dock for the last half year!), and they're for primary service in the Tau Fleets I own, but they're not especially brilliant for 'WOW!'. Xisor |

And what better Sept for the ship to be refitted and launched (and operated) than at the most cosmopolitan of worlds in the Empire? Besides, there is no guarantee that the Tau managed to capture a Navy shipyard in Timbra, Roalck Sea or Shadat Gulao, and there would certainly not be any in orbit of either Taros or the Damocles colonies... And I thought I was being ambitious by having the Y'eldi capture a Mars, you want the Tau to have an operational Vengeance hull? (of course, that Mars-config RT cruiser I have would be suitable there!) Gary |

Sounds interesting Xisor. I'd consider going one stage further and replace some of the engines with Tau style ones, plus replace the bridge. Perhaps even go as far as swapping out the prow ( as long as it doesn't look too outlandish ). Of course this would require cutting up a Tau ship. Plus all that white metal to work with ( bring back lead! ![]() |
