I am currently working on the following miniatures - and thought I would let you see how things are going

the dethcopter is virtually finished, and I have now nearly finished the pilot.

I imagine the E-A version, listed in the rules, may look like that ...

my epic (currently unfinished) versions look like this

basically, a buggy with the wheels cut off, the engine is part of the Epic40K base sprue and the rotors are from plastic strip.

A flying base is needed, but the one you've used seems a little too big for what it is.
Anyone have ideas for smaller flying bases?
Cheers
Chris

you certainly have a point there Chris
in the EpicA rules they are counted as skimmers, therefore by my own basing convention they should really be based as my Space Marine Speeders are...
now I was going to put in a picture of my SM Speeders to show their bases, but the only picture I had, I have digitally removed the bases...

ah well
here it is anyway...

Yes, those E40K metal skimmer bases work for me ...

Jimbo,
Don't bother buying GW biz, just use a little plastic rod off of pence. It would be much more cost effective and just as good looking.
I tried making some Deth Koptas, but mine look like something a five-year-old whipped out. I'm not pleased with them. Back to the drawing board...
BikerBeerStud said he made some too, but I haven't seen them yet. Speaking of which, I haven't heard from him in awhile either.
Anyone heard from BikerBeerStud lately?
Shalom, Maksim.
P.S. Jimbo, I'm ready to take some photos of some of my Orks over the next few months. You said that you would be happy to host a Maksim gallery. How about it?

..For Epic 40k GW had their Marine Land Speeders up on bits of wire from a UK 1pence coin, a simple little solution.

Jimbo,
I haven't forgotten about getting you photos. My big hold-up right now is my sister. She's my photo specialist and her editing programs are still in storage (along with her computer).
Having seen the FW Deth Kopta, I still like yours better.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

I haven't seen this thread before.
Thats a nice deth kopta. It actually has two rotors, unlike the GW one. Even though the Ork description says it uses two.
The base is a little big, but not massive.

Maksim - what about De'Aynes?
As for BikerBeerStud I agree - where is he? There is a piece of fluff a month or two away I need him to look over for the Horus Heresy fluff about a band of Squat mercenaries.
Don't wanna ruin things for those of you who are waiting for it, so a Squat expert is needed . Despite the fact that fluff got no votes on the favourite types of Incoming! articles poll, lol.
As for the Deth Kopter, it looks well cool, but the piece is stolen by the Photoshop wizardry on the Marine speeders, they look so cool!
