This weekend, i've tested my airbrush with this chimera.
I've also tested some techniques found in Mig Jimenez FAQ and Forgeworld masterclass book, including pigments (well, more than in my last tests), the first time I used oil paint, and lots of washes.
I've messed a few things as I begin with the airbrush, and i've leardned that old range of ink diluted with water looks very bad on big surfaces... I've got some Johnson Klear to fix this next time !

I think it looks good. The only thing I would fix is the treads. Why would the top treads look clean and the bottom ones be dirty? They all should be dirty IMO. The hard break takes away from the overall image IMO.

But the blade and the sides look wonderful.

*Thump!* Warheads jaw hitting ground.

This is a really great look Napalm. I wish I could do the same for my NetEPic Russ' and Chimera's. dafrca is right IMO as I think the top of the tracks would still be caked in churned up muck and top soil.

Thanks.
Make dirty tracks is quite easy, so I'll put some mud/soil this evening on it.

You have to admit Napalm. It does look amazing. I'm no 40K painter but I love these models

I haven't appreciated a 40k model in YEARS! Very nice. I used to use real mud and stuff on AFV's when i was modelling them; it's nice to see a 40k model that takes the 'realistic' approach; i think it really does it justice and makes it look like a military - as opposed to a fantasy/sci-fi - vehicle.
