ATLAS AGAIN

This beastie is an international project, by the way, with the hull coming from Justiniel, the cannon from Mojarn Piett, and the enginseering by myself. I hope I havn't disappointed my suppliers with this lack of weirdness - but the cannon and the hull fitted together perfectly.  :D

ATLAS.... WEIGHTLIFTING

Er - here's where it does get weird. The Atlas is no ordinary tank - it's an Armoured Engineering Vehicle (even more specifically, an Armoured Conveyor) designed to transport large loads into the thick of battle. Hence ita low shape, flat top, and heavy armour. The cannon helps get things out of the way...

Mind you, this sort of beastie had its equivalents in real life.  :L  :D  :-:

ATLAS FUNNY

Armoured Engineering Vehicles were called 'the Funnies' in WWII, for obvious reasons. That bundle of cocktail stic- er, logs is a fascine, used to fill trenchs and permit stuff to cross right across.  :D

VANVLAK PIC OF THE WEEK - WORKBENCH

Hi all,
this is called a NOTABLOG because it's in the wrong place for a blog - it should be in the general discussion thread. But most of what I have to say is about my freak models, and as this thread supports pics - here we are.

Anyway, enough chatter. Here's the type of image we havn't had for some time - a workbench. Lots of Epic stuff prominent, with 3rd Army tanks from different factions - namely, the Oprichnik Guard, the Red Giant SMs, the Ad. Mech. and the Inquisition (the Rhinos).

It is always fun to see what others have "on the bench".

Thanks!

dafrca

Looks good. I am not so sure about the sticks, I like it better without them. But that is just me.

Fascine. ?:;):
And I didn't stick them on. In fact I'll be devising a couple of other mega-loads for poor old Atlas. ?:;):

RED GIANT VINDICATORS

Hi again all,
4 models ready today, excellent - for me! The Atlas, and the 3 Vindicators which could be seen in the workbench pic. Here they are in my dullest colour scheme yet, for the Red Giant SMs. At least L4 will be pleased...  :;):

Sounds like some eciting time on the Vanvlakian Front...

Just to further inspire you and upset that timetable, however, have you seen this:
http://www.goldrushgames.com/wotw.html

And it even has stats for playing Martians in Invasion of Monster Island...

:D

Tas, that is cold knowing we are all game addicts. ?:p

Umm, I'm afraid it's just a standard 40K Nid Warrior..... but it DOES have possibilities. Mecha-kaiju, now why didn't I -

- and don't worry Tas, he won't be harmed; but an as-yet to be assembled one might! ?:{ :D

Yep - forgot to mention it!  :{
Part of Commissioning eh?
Did sea trials once, on the distinctly less military Kapitan Chmutov, a timber carrier built here for the then-Soviet Union.  :D And I was involved in the commissioning of at least three of its sisters. Not as a client, though.
:L

PS - Nice ship!  :D

What were do doing on the trials team V?

I also commissioned one of ANZAC's sisters, the HMAS ARUNTA, in 1999.
Nice ships, based on the Meko deisgn by Blohm & Voss.  Builders of such ships as KMS BISMARCK, which I find ironic.... ???
