Yes, Tas, we worked out of Warrior Base, a tent city just south of Camp Boniface, but it was turned over to the South Koreans about 10 years ago. ?And the North Koreans, well you been there, so you know. ?Sometimes we'd see blonde haired guys in gray or brown unifroms, with the N.K.s and they were not Dentists from Finland ... ?The N.K.s are closer to 'Nids then Orks either way, hope you roll 6s ... ? ...

What was the name of that NK twn in the DMZ?- the one with a population of zero with the enormous flagpole and the 24hr propoganda broadcasts.
You could see it fro the famous bridge where the POWs were returned and where the infamous Axe incident occured
That was bizarre

Yes, Tas, I remember, Propaganda Village. The whole area is surreal, like a Sci-Fi movie, but you're in it. I had 2 tours on the "Z". We remember the "Axe" incident, we were determined not to let that kind of thing happen again. After 22 months there, when I got back to the world, I thought I was on another planet. Whoa ... I have not thought about that place in a while ... Hey Doc Primarch, you must have better stuff to do than play Epic, like cure diseases and stuff ?

Primarch,
I know how you feel.
I had a long hiatus between Epic40k (3rd edition) and the launch of E-A (4th Edition). I only really even got back into enjoying my models about two years ago when we started playing Epic-40k again and then later became playtesters for the new E-A when the playtesting opened up. Now that GW-US has closed the best local gameshop, Hobby Workshop, I'm out of cool local places to play and meet new gamers again. We have two other shops in the area, but they're both chocked full of "fanboys." After awhile I can't stand to be around lots of "fanboys." That's one of the other reasons that I've started to take lengthy breaks from the playtesters' forum; the part about playtesters helping the game to be a better one is VERY minimal.
I'm hoping to eventually round up the Epic players in the Northern California area into some sort of league. There are quite afew players out this way. Of course, in Israel, there are very few.
I may just end up playing a lot of OGRE since the Bay Area OGRE groups are pretty active.
My main group is also starting 25mm Napoleonics.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!
Maksim, I agree with you staying away from "fanboy" filled game stores. I pretty much "retired" playing in stores years ago, in fact around the time epic40k. I found I didn't have much in common with the average person that frequented the shop and a lot of people my age stopped going. My gaming "Scene" switched to my house or a friends house. It was a LOT better. I got to play with people I actually wanted to play with (instead of a pickup game with the local game store stooge) and it was, as a social activity, much more fulfilling.
Of course there are exceptions, when I moved to philadelphia, I gamed at a store owned by the brother of a netepic member, we had a lot of fun! But I guess they took great pains to keep the "enviorment" comfortable.
I guess I'll wait for my son to grow up some more for a gaming buddy.
Primarch

I know what you mean boys, it's been a while since we actually sat down and played a game. But we work on our hybrid rules as time permits. Hey Maksim, Tas is going to be in San Diego this summer, I'm not sure how far that is away from you, but you might want to link up for a game or a beer ?
