Today's contributions to the God-Emperor's Forces of Hunanity: * A Hydra SPAA Battery * A trio of Russ Demolishers * Stripping back 6 Superheavies (after some Munitorium Idiot stacked about 3 layers of (non tactical coloured) enamel paint on them - what was he thinking???) * A Sentinel Squadron - "Reilly's Raiders" - painted by my 3 year old son * Another Sentinel Squadron - "Meaghan's Marauders" - painted by my 7 year old daughter.

Hehe, good to see the young painting servitors put to good use. It is never too early to learn how to paint Epic minis.
Cheers!

Just four weeks until the move and things must get done...or not...
working on some terrian for a friend. This is 40K scale terrian. The river is about 5-6" wide. Which means in epic it's like the Rhine..well almost.
Here is the Work in Progress pics of the River. At this point I have covered the putty on the river in watered down Elmo's (PVA) glue. When It dries it gets a heavy coat of black.
This river is about 6' long and attaches to a waterfall that is already built.
Enjoy

Okay, three hours of work on Friday have seen the answer. It's the motherboard. Dunno how the thing actually managed to work, but it shouldn't. Will have to test it out with a different CPU, if I manage to get my hands on one (I think we have a spare one in bureau).
So, I have returned to my dutiful old friend, the 486DX4/100 mounted on a Socket 3 PCI/ISA board.
But this was only the prelude to other problems.
When I have managed to launch the thing, WinDoze 98 decided it does not want to play anymore - "Himem.sys not found". When i have copied the file from another HDD I have copied the system to while trying to move it, it got better - now WinDoze just locks up while loading.
Bootdisks that should theoretically allow me to re-run the machine and install W98 on the second HDD did not succeed, as the computer suddenly got "blind" to CD-ROM drive.
ARRRGHHH!!! (hits head on the desk)
Hopefully, if everything comes together right today, I'll be able to restore the old system and this will be the end to all of my trouble. Hopefully.
In the meantime, I had to carry 11 kilograms of a computer monitor to the bus stop and from the second one to the bureau and then carry it up three floors - and I'm not a muscle-man type of a guy. Ouch.
As for miniatures, I have done a little, but not much:
-Dread got a new base, feet touched up and the skull re-glued in place. Looks prety cool, if you want my opinion. -Bethor's nameplate is done. -A Tactical Marine got the Purity Seals painted, thus getting finished. -Finished the repaint on the Missile Launcher heavy weapons Marine and got him reassembled. Purity Seals will soon follow. -Removed the sloppy GS patching from Gabriel's helmet (he's my Dark Angels Leader level Hero) and re-did it. Now it is almost indistinguishable from the helmet. Re-painted the areas that lost paint during the process. -The "oasis" terrain piece is going on nicely. All sand is painted, the small spring came out much better then expected and now I'm painting one of the two palm trees.
This leaves me with: -Three Dark Angels to paint purity seals and names on. -Three Sisters of Battle to paint. -One Unseen Phoenix Hawk to paint. -Three Battlemechs, Callidus and the Crusader to sculpt some more GS on. -"Ruined block" terrain piece to add more plasticard onto. -Omni-Rhino and Omni-Dreadnought to finish and paint (Omni as in Omni-Mech - exchangeable weaponry rocks!)

The Weekend saw my first 15mm WWII pieces arrive for Flames of War & yesterday the first 6 T34s & 6 BA64 scout cars went under the brush. They're being painted using basically the same techniques as my speed painted epic, so no prize winning pieces here, but they're coming along nicely & once again prove to be enjoyably "Different" from my commission work
Only epic painting is on commission still
