I'm still painting Eldar for Fanatic & have a heap of 6mm scale commissions on at the moment, |
...any chance of pics of these any time soon.. or will Fanatic be making us wait until a month or two before they are released... hehe
...Any funky new models btw, or is it all just E40k era minis?

Eldar: No new minis yet. Not expecting the first test pieces for those to come through for a few months yet. I dont know if I can post pictures of the bits done so far. They're all old models, but I dont know whether it would be stealing fanatics thunder if everyone has seen the studio army beofre they're due time - I'll ask Tom M. when He's back from Oz.
IG Stormtroopers: Dont think I can until the book is released. There's a colour photo in there so that counts as published imagery & I'll post my own.

Just purchased 5 Tactical Marines... Trashed the three 2nd edition Marines that disgraced my army, and I'm doing several conversions. One helmet gets a different front, reminding those of Iron Warriors' and Emperor's Champion helmets.
Dreadnought base is complete with wasteland/desert texture and a stray skull. Now just the purity seals and the Deathwing symbol on the right greave.

Finally had the time to work a bit on my Chaos forces. Devoting myself to Khorrne for a day I painted up a Land Raider detatchment, a Terminator detatchment with Land Raider Transport some converted Predators and drybrushed some Berzerkers which only need some brass detailing. Still not a big force but the powers of darkness are growing...
Cheers!

Right, sorted pics... I present my new Howling Banshee Exarch... I found it relativly simply to build- it is a normal Exarch body, with Banshee head and sword blades, the original gun made into the weapon shaft, and a little Greenstuff added for the loincloth.... Cheers for the idea Tuff!

Great work on your version - it looks superb!
The Banshee Exarch is one I've wanted to re-visit since the first conversion(s) were a little scrappy in the painting department, but I was put off after a number of bad results trying to do an accurate Drazhar & failing (that was to be my new year piece I mentioned in December).
Keep it up - its always good to see more people taking the leap into infantry conversions in 6mm scale

Thanks... ..there are a couple of things on the model I'd eventually like to change- the worst thing is that the way I've based my Eldar doesn't really provide that much contrast with the Banshees- they are both Bleachd Bone... Anyone got any clever ideas as to how I can sort this...?

Well, my order from Black tree Designs arrived yesterday, and it didnt take much for me to get started!
The majority of the order was Savage Orcs, but two small regiments of "Men of Averaign" made it in as well as an allied contingent for my WHFB Empire army & they saw the first of my attention.

More images can be found on my Mercenary Brush Workbench along with more details of my other current projects - Many and varied as usual! (Still no epic Orks though - I never thought I'd say it but I'm painting too much 6mm at the moment!)

Hi!
I have noticed BTD models are becoming very popular. Is the quality good?

They're not the standard of GW or Rackham, but the price is generally less than half for like items so they're uperb value.
Their more recent ranges (100YW & crusaders in particular) are raising their standards & from what I've seen are great models, but the price is higher on these new ranges (typically 12 figures for the same price their other ranges give you 20 figures for.
The miniatures also tend to be a little smaller than their GW counterparts.
