Hi Guys,
thought I might add to this thread...
My mechanised IG army is forming. In the photo you can see the Leman Russ I traded Cybershadow for, the IG bikes I traded Justiniel for and my own attempt at a fire support platoon (using Eldar canon).
The bikes proxy as RR, the robots are Ogryns. I'm after a more modern looking IG but still wanted to field a range of units, hence the bikes and robots. And before anyone asks, it's kitty litter on the robots...

Is this the Penal Battalion, or is it something else?

Furgie | Looks like a great start. The Fire Support look nice. Well done.
I look forward to seeing the finished painted army!

Nice work Furgie. If I had a chance to do my IG again, l'd use more circular bases for IG units I think... they look really good!

His enemies will shrink from His most righteous fury when the company of Chimeras, 2 dets of Basilisks, a det of Demolishers and Hydras are added to His most glorious and ever victorius battle-force in the next few days. They underwent cleaning, gluing and and undercoating in Tas's manufactorium today
Plus my daughter did well in her ballet exams!

Looks like the CPU we have working is a vintage 486 DX2/80. Never thought I'd ever see any of these! This effectively limits the useability of the computer to being little more then an arcade gaming machine, though.
Borrowed the monitor from the bureau. I'll have to reassemble the computer today and it will all work perfectly then.
Began repainting the Dreadnought's base. I had to break off the skull, as it was in my way, but I'll reattach it later. New base will look much better then this odd "whitish cheese" thing that it was before, as my new technique for desert bases yields fast and interesting results.
For your reference: -basecoat Vomit Brown -drybrush Sunburst Yellow, leaving about 50% of the basecoat showing through -drybrush Skull White, covering both some of the basecoat and the yellow. Again about 50% of the overall base surface should be covered. -drybrush Sunburst Yellow again, leaving some white and brown showing through -shout "Tadaam!"
Real quickie, see.

Nice job Furgie. I'm getting more and more sold on round bases. I think I'll base/re-base my Eldar that way when I get arrround to working on them. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers!

Yep- If I hadn't bothered, I know I'd have been kicking myself, thinking it would have been easy to dig them out... I don't think I'll bother building new ones.. although maybe I'll do one for the command tank....

<13 LINES HAVE BEEN CENSORED OUT> What have I done to deserve this??? WHAT???
The damn computer is still not working, even though I have switched to the borrowes monitor. Will have to dismantle the sucker and test it part-by-part over the weekend.
On a totally different note, I just finished the Dread's new base. Will only need some touch-ups on the edges and where paint got onto the model's feet.

I feel for you. I have been there, having to test each freakin piece. Sucks big time. I hope you find the culprit soon.

Went too the local hobby store to pic up some Green Stuff for "the project". While there I noticed a copy of BFG Armada on the shelves. Since it's no longer available in the Online Store I was quick to pick it up.
Anyway I did a bit of sculpting on the Project and tonight I'll get ssome reading done while the GS dries.
Cheers!
