Quote (primarch @ 10 2004 Jan.,18:31) | Hi!
Mojarn, I have the sony mavica camera and its great! Love the fact that it can use CD's as well as the usual cable interphase. It takes great pictures.

Didn't you have the MCCD400? 500 is a newer product but for some reason it costs a LOT less than the 400 (1199.00 EUR vs 699 EUR). Plus, it seems the MCCD400 is not available in the Sony site any more.
Does the 400 use regular CDs? 500 uses the smaller 8cm ones, although they should be readable on any CD drive.

I recently read a review of digital cameras, and the Nikon Coolpix 5400 really stood out for close-up (macro) photography |
Only problem is that at 765? it costs 66? more than the Sony MCCD500. However, it does have better optical zoom (4x opposed to 3x in the Sony), slightly better resolution (5.1 megapixels vs 5.0) and has only about half of the weight of the MCCD.
Hmmmm.

the price is certainly an issue...
however the reason I mentioned it was this comparison from the review

I am now seriously considering upgrading to this camera

Finished Brother Akkad, the Dark Angels Tactical Marine. Managed to do some work on my webpage, and subsequently messed up one of the more important elements. Enchancing the paintjob on Dreadnought Gideon; his base was just yesterday made into desert theme, and will be soon completed with addition of some stray skull. Started to convert another Tactical Marine. Begun a Chaplain conversion using what's left of my bits box (technically it's a bag rather then a box, but I think you know what do I mean). Most pieces will come from a 2nd ed Tactical Marine, with a prodigious amount of Green Stuff added.

I almost forgot: yestarday I managed to finish the 40k Emperor's Champion, meaning the model itself. I'll still have to make a banner plus flock the base. Pics will be coming when I get that digicam...

Hi!
Mojarn, I have the CD400. It uses the smaller disc, but comes with an adapter for use in any CD-rom.
Nikon also makes microscopes and their lenses are top notch, so I can see the quality of their cameras.
The CD400 I have may be more expensive because it has a Ziess lens, another very reputable company making lenses and the quality of the pictures is top notch and it has a macro feature as well.

Hi all, the fact I'm posting here rather than on my Eldar diary means I'm being bad and working on other stuff - namely, my 40K Legio Fausta space marines (vanilla flavour). I'm trying to finish an army in time for a tournament in February, the first time I'll be playing 40K with an army other than Chaos (trust me not to have time to playtest a new army before a tourney!) Anyway, I'm busy assembling Devastators with rocket launchers - I have 13 (!) to assemble and paint, as well as two bolter-armed Devs. Then there's a Librarian, a Land Speeder Typhoon, a pair of assault bikes and a Razorback - phew! I'll never make it!
Oh, and on the day after the 40K do, there's the WHFB tournament...no new army here, but I'm compromising by building and painting three new characters for my Chaos types.
And - alongside poor old Deffsta, waiting on the slip, what should surface but an old Beetleback....I had this idea for a conversion, and.... sigh!

Well, all things epic appear to be taking a break, At least those from my collections.
I've been working on my Next Savage Orc Regiment tonight - basic skin complete, but a long way to go!
I've got a heap more arriving (hopefully soon!) from Black Tree Designs - the sale price of 45p per metal miniature compared to GW's ?2.50 (for the decent OOP savage orcs that is)was too good to resist!
Also currently having brushes waved in their general direction are some more 40K IG & Eldar pieces, but nothing great to report on I'm afraid.
I havent even fiddled with my E:A Orks yet. I'm still painting Eldar for Fanatic & have a heap of 6mm scale commissions on at the moment, so its no longer the nice break from the larger scale commissions I used to do a lot of. Whenever I do start it, I think the Orks might be a more "relaxed" painting diary
