Based, prepped and undercoated 4 Stompas, 4 Big Gunz and 5 assorted Ork vehicles (1 Braincrusha, 3 Bowelburnas, and one I can't remember), to take with me to GW to work on.

More battle goodies! Thanks! And one question about the old-style reaver. Is that black & white striped carapace from some established legion or is it just home-brew? I'm asking because I acquired a couple of Warhounds from eBay recently, both of which had the same typ zebra stripe carapace and red legs & weapons.

I got myself back together, altough it requires driking a lot of coffee to keep me upright. Ha! Coffee! The cup that is in front of me now contains not coffee but a noxious black substance with consistency of tar. Mammoth dose of caffeine and even greater of glucose.

But it works.
And so, i decided that since next 4 days will be free time, I'll get to doing that long-needed site redesign.

The moonlit skies burst out in flames
The time has come, it must be done
Let the power be unchained

Thanks FarSeer, that's the closest I get to a game these days so it's much appreciated, shame to see the Eldar get whupped but who allowed the SM to get destroyed piecemeal?

T5H, I too am really looking forward to a couple of days r and r, maybe even get some painting done....
I hope it's a really good 'proper' coffee (you can keep the glucose :D )

Hi,

Just had a rather messy evening making my first terrain piece for a long time. Now that I've cleaned everything up, I took a few snaps to show WIP. :)

Here's a photo before I try to explain what I am trying to do.

With no pieces

The holes on the top fit an SM2 era building (or one converted from one of those), a Titan size base and two 2p pieces. I figured that I can make objective pieces, based on Titan bases or 2p's, to fit into these holes and be interchangable. This will let me swap pieces to make the hill an orbital relay station, or a fuel dump, or a laser battery, or anything else. I could of course, have just made a normal hill and placed pieces on top, but I wanted the interchangable parts to look like part of the hill no matter which way they were combined.

I hope that makes sense. :D Anyway, here's a picture with the bases placed on top to show how they'll sit. (Try to imagine a big satellite dish on the titan base and two defence turrets on the 2p's.)

With pieces

I think I'll make some pieces to keep this as an Imperial outpost for the moment (AA turrets, fuel barrels, satellites, etc), but I can always make some Ork objectives to replace them (lookout towers, big gunz, etc), or even destroyed versions of the Imperial bits to show when turrets and buildings have been blown up. :D

I'll finish the cutting over the weekend and try to get it painted and sanded by next week.

Cheers,
Freshmetal

Looks good FM. :)

Ive been doing a few tests for my next project, Grotnoughts.
Basically I was thinking something like an iron version of a WHFB Squig. Add the arms from the Necromunda Pitslave and voila!

Cheers.:)
