I've just done a load on the Firebase this afternoon- after finishing the plasticine work last night, and making some paving, I've just textured about half the base with sand- a rather time consuming and tedious process....

And after keeping away from glue and paint for around a month, I'm back at work at last - working on what seems to be an infinity of zombies for a vampire army for WHFB. In this case infinity = around 40. The good old Third (Epic) Army is still around - in bits and pieces - on my workbench, so I'll try to squeeze in the odd bit here and there too. I'm assigning a probability of continuation index (PCI) to my models, and the highest rankers are a Manticore-equivalent and a Kinght Lancer, both at PCI 6. (max PCI = 9):p

Lol, I don't understand it - I rush it, they look awful, yet it still takes ages .
*Looks with envy at the other painters, completing amazingly good painted armies in oh.... 5 mins?*

Quote (Legion 4 @ 21 2004 June,16:14) | I think W/M mentioned this before, but the Basilisks and Rhinos that I got did not mold out in certain areas as well as they should have. | Sorry to hear that L4, my SHT's were fine (apart from some very minor flash), that's what I'm painting up at the moment.
And Netepic, I've similar problems, takes ages and still doesn't look as good as they should. Just have to keep practicing...

Quote (netepic @ 21 2004 June,16:32) | Painted a second horse... can supply picks but they are woefully embarrasing in comparison to the other guys work as I tend to rush my painting and have very little talent :S. | This is why we get on... we have the same attitude and ability. It takes me about a month to paint up a base of Epic minis, and then the results are not something that you would show your enemy!
netepic: What scale horses are they... epic? (I have the picture of you with a large brush and a 'real' full sized horse. Give us pictures anyway...
I have been really busy with work, so I have been working on something simple. A single Gothic Tyranid Vanguard Drone is assembled, and pictures will follow shortly.

Well, worked a lot on recoding the HTML on my site, will try to upload in a moment. Photobucket hosting should work well enough.
Got back to sculpting the standard finial for my Banner of Devastation. Yes, I AM insane. Neverthless, it progresses slowly but inevitably.

netepic: What scale horses are they... epic? (I have the picture of you with a large brush and a 'real' full sized horse. Give us pictures anyway... | They are 28mm, eventually they are destined to go in my Stirland Empire army, they are Black Tree Design Rohan forces.
(They count as knights, my justification for the lighter armour is the fact that Stirland is a poor county. Stat wise, they represent the nobles of Stirland banding together, so it balances out with there better training....).
Being me, I have completely written out the fluff for the list prior to painting up the force.
I can provide pics, but warn you my painting is roughly simular to that of a five year old with no thumbs.

I'm currently in the final planning stages of my cityscape before I start the project in the summer. My biggest problem is working out how to store 16 square feet of boards (In 8 inch squares) without them getting dusty and being broken!
Cheers
Chris

Quote (netepic @ 22 2004 June,17:57) | Oh it so can. | Now I REALLY want to see pictures!
Anyway, with work being tough, I have been forced to 're-arrange' my painting list. The Epic Marine force is still there, but has moved a couple of places lower down the list (to about number 5), I will finish it as soon as I can. I promise.
Instead, I needed something that I could work on for about 15 minutes at a time, between other 'real life' stuff. So, it seemed a good time to make a start on my Battlefleet Gothic Tyranid Vanguard Fleet. This has appealed since the start, as it is an entire fleet of only Escorts. I just want to see the expression on my opponenets face.
Anyway, the plan is to have only converted and built vessels in this fleet, no 'official' GW/FW Tyranid ships, to make it unique.
My first ship is a Vanguard Drone armed with Bio-Plasma.
