Glad you like them, DS! Hope you like these too. No time for any real painting today, as I've had errands to run this morning then dissertation stuff to do this afternoon (and that's more important at the moment than painting Minis! ) Here, as promised, are some pics of the units I currently have painted for this Inquisition force. To start with, a Callidus Assassin which was 1st painted 5 years ago, then given a bit of re-painting (mainly the weapons) a few years ago:

Next we have an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor, Lorovan Shadow, and his retinue - these were started nearly 3 years ago, completed over 18months ago now:

...and here's Inquisitor's back, as I was quite pleased with how I'd managed to get the shading on the cape to work out in places:

Finally, we have two Storm Trooper squads. The first was painted 3 years ago, the second started shortly after but completed at the same time as Inquisitor Shadow. As I was going for a 'covert/night-ops' kind of look for these I painted the weapons and all their hi-tech looking gear black, with subtle grey highlights. After varnishing the mnis, I painted some watered down gloss-varnish on the weapons and Carapace armour in attempt to suggest they're metal which have been painted dull colours so as not to reflect light... anyway, here they are:

If I've time later I'll see if I can start putting together the Leman Russ tank. Otherwise, that'll be it now until Tuesday...
Till then, enjoy!

I've been on a bit of a downer today, had a couple of pieces of unwanted news, so I've not really felt like doing much, really. Bad for my Dissertation, bad for my painting projects!
I did feel inspired enough to chip away at a couple of things. Firstly, I've been working on a Leman Russ for this Inquisition army - not quite finished yet, and held together with blue tac! I need to get a few more bits to complete it, but here's where I'd got to Sunday afternoon:

Today I had a go at converting some Colossian Guardsmen, which will be part of the two Armoured Fist squads attached to this army. So far I'm using Catachan Legs arms & Lasguns, and Cadian Tank Crew Torsoes - They look a bit wierd at the moment, but they are definitely wip - lots of green-stuff sculpting to do on these before they're counted as finished! (Clue - think Berets ):

Back tomorrow, when hopefully I won't be feeling so down, and will have done some painting (either a few more Epic tanks or a Storm Trooper-or-two)!

Nice work ! Concentrate on things that make you happy, fallback, regroup ... prepare to counterattack ... I know recently I suffered a minor yet annoying setback ... but there is always tomorrow ...

Thank you all for your messages of support, lads - today has been better! Yesterday was one of those days when you don't just get one piece of disappointing news, but it seems everything else is too... It was stuff to do with work and finances, the sort of thing that makes you go 'why do I even bother trying???'
But I've felt much better today. I've cracked on with my dissertation, and got some painting done - more Epic Tanks, you'll be pleased to hear! Here are some pics, although my camera only seems to have one setting - dark & fuzzy - and I don't have any decent photo editing software (if anyone knows of any that you can get off the internet and are, most importantly, free! I'd appreciate it ). So here are the dark and fuzzy pics:

Back tomorrow, in which time I will have started on the 40k Inquisitorial Storm Troopers. Till then, enjoy!

Knew you'd approve of some Epic Tanks!
Today I started upon the Inquisition Storm Troopers. I was kind of reticent about getting started with these because it's been a while since I'd painted the previous two squads, and they seemed to take me ages to get through. So I was expecting them to be a bit of a slog... how wrong I was! I did these three in just over 2 hours. I only stopped because my bottom had started to ache because of my painting stool...

They're not totally finished, they need spraying with varnish, then I'll add gloss to the weapons, carapace, and targeter lenses. Oh, and put some flock on the bases to give them a bit of colour.
That'll be it till next week, when I'll carry on with the Epic Tanks and these Storm Troopers.
Till then, enjoy!

That's why I have a cushion on my painting stool. ? | Sorted!

Thanks for all your positive comments, lads! Well, I suppose the theme of todays post could be 'what I did while EpiComms was down'. I feel I've done a lot this week:
- 5 Epic Leman Russ Tanks - add that to what I'd done and that's a whole Tank Company finished! Tuesday I varnished the one's I'd finished thus far:
... and yesterday I painted 3 more which just need varnishing now - so that's a whole company down! (note the Blue-topped command Tank. Y'know, to make it stick out more on the battle-field... as if having a missive Vanquisher cannon isn't enough!)

As well as that, I've done a few more Storm Troopers - varnished 6, another 2 over today and yesterday:

I've felt very enthused about painting this week, I don't know why... ususally I have to grit my teeth and force my way through it - but I think the fast progress I've made on these (30mins for a Storm Trooper! Down to 45 mins for a Leman Russ!) has helped.
That's it for this week, I'm back in uni next week (with 3 assignments to start on), so I think I'll struggle to get time to paint. But if I do, there's a couple more Storm Troopers before I move on to a Death Watch Kill Team, and for Epic there's 3 Demolisher Tanks...
Till then, enjoy!

I do the same thing with my command tanks, paint the hatch a distinctive color. Some day (maybe ) I'll get around to putting flags on them.
Nice job as usual, fire.
