Well, the weekend began pretty bad for me - from Friday morning to Saturday evening, my blood glucose levels went totally out of control. Fortunately, I managed to regain power over them - eventually.
I begin to hate my new glucometer. The thing refuses to operate in temperatures under 16 degrees Celsius, and guess what, that's exactly what do I have in my room. Looks like I'm gonna return to the old type, maybe replacing it with a new unit somwhere soon.
Repaired my discman. One drop of hot solder applied in the right place does wonders, you know.
Still playing Bloodrayne. Created a fix for timing bug one one levels, where you get an opportunity to reduce some Nazis by a dimension through lowering a lift onto them - there was a clipping bug where the Nazis stayed upright for about three seconds after the lift went down, "phasing" through it. My fix reduces the time of clipping to about 0,5 second. Thinking of making a fan-patch that will drastically increase the playing difficulty. And when I am saying drastically, I MEAN IT. Almost managed to get through Act 3 playing on "sudden death". There is one level that is pretty annoying, as you run through a burning bridge and at one point parts of it collapse randomly. Too randomly. 50/50 for falling vs getting through. It's a really long way down if you fall... The final Wulf/Beliar fight still eludes me, too. I need to find a sure tactic for killing Beliar quickly. Even when playing via normal means (ie continues allowed), I usually end up with Rayne dying in 95% of attempts at the final level. Still thinking on making a 28mm scale model of Rayne... would make a wonderful female Eversor for 40k, I think. But I am lost for what model to use for the basis... been thinking about Witch Elves for a while, tho. With a head swap it might actually work, will require a prodigious amount of GS, though. What a pity that I cannot allow myself to purchase any Sisters of Battle blisters nor Witch elf ones, even though I could theoretically afford them (got to fulfill my purchase plan for Dark Angels first - this will be a long wait).
Did some touch-ups on the Awakening. I think that now the story reads a bit better, and might even be worth considering to submit to Imperial Literature for permament addition into their Fiction Core.
A sittle more sorting through the old files. Minor success.
Did some work in HeroMachine on character graphics for Bloodrayne including the variant outfit and DarkRayne versions. Just for fun, really, but the effect aint bad:
Rayne Rayne in dress outfit DarkRayne
Finished working on the Banshee. Not getting to painting her yet, though. I want to do a test for the base I have in mind first, and if it comes out nice and clean, I'll go to basing her that way. The GS work for the test base is done so far (looks like a strange crystal conglomeration - just as it is supposed to be).
Work complete on backpacks for bit-marines.
The helmeted Sister has her fleur-de-lys almost complete. Just a little minor addition to it and I can call it done.
Major progress on Callidus' ponytail.
Work on the bit-marines also went forward a little.
Emperor's Champion will get some extra Purity Seals (made GS moulds from the ones in Attack Bike kit just yesterday), and the paintjob on the sword will be redone (I want to achieve a "glow" effect like the one on the icon in the Banshee model I did ).
Been also reading more of the Lovecraft's stories (Cthulhu Mythos... mmmglw nafh), some Blood Rayne fanfiction (not bad either) and Ghost Rider: Hammer Lane. That one was disappointing. Judging from the style of graphics, its a work of the same person who was drawing some of the Spawn series for a while. Can't say I like it, and can't say I like making Ghost Rider a big bully either.
