Quote (blackhorizon @ 11 Jan. 2006 (12:57)) | The High Admirality of Battlefleet Gothic did ask Forgeworld if they could do Voss prows. No answer been given. | Not quite true unfortunately... FW did indeed indicate that:
"the BFG ship that everyone has seen may never be released due to unforeseen reasons, we have been trying to get this released for many many months (about 8 now) but due to certain restrictions there is no date for it and no confirmation that this will ever be released for purchase.
hope this helps answer your questions
Many thanks
Chris Shepperson Forge World"
Or in otherwords... don't hold your breath. Again...

I remember seeing those Dreamforge 'Titans'. The flap over on Portent left me laughing for hours. stupid rabid fanboyz.
They did look quite nice, though, and the prices, IIRC, were about what FW charges for a Warhound, when you're buying a Warlord-sized beast.
Such a shame about the Voss prow. I bet it was a moldripper.

It is a little odd because the prow itself should be fairly simple to cast.Personally I wouldn't mind buying a Dauntless and add a seperate Voss Prow and perhaps a new bridge if they sold them as a set. Armageddon BC's are even simpler and GW could probably sell a decent number if they made a Voss pattern booster pack similar to the Plague Fleet Booster.
Cheers!

As I understand it the problem with the Endeavour etc was that the narrow hull in front of the engines made the model twist along its centerline ( I hear that this is a problem with a lot of the other designs too - it's just that this is particularly evident in the Endeavour ), hence breaking the mould.
I can well imagine that a resin casting process might not suffer from such a thing ( although I know little of this subject ). Also, a couple of solutions present themselves : firstly thicken the narrow part of the hull a bit, or secondly split the hull into two sections ( although this might make for a weak model if not done correctly ).
However, given their limited resources, I can understand SG not wanting to pour more money into the project with no guarentee of fixing the problem. What I can't understand is the subsequent reluctance to pass it on to FW ( although it seems from the e-mail that Heresiarch posted it might be down to internal divisions between SG & FW - a worrying situation also implied with the Tau CPF rules debacle ).

What I don't understand is why SG can't just make the prow only. I don't think that will break.

Wow- those are cool looking pictures. I assume that they are conversions- if so excellently done. And the paintjob is pretty nice too.
The painter's name Rodrigo Barbera does n't ring a bell. Does anyone know if he is a regular on Epicomms?
Cheers

Never seen him on Epicomms, he was a member of the old Specialist Games BFG forum under the name Admiral Lonius and in the new one his name is Aristocracy of the Night I believe.
At the old BFG forum he had a guide how he build them....the old forum is now gone....

Hi. This guy is not a member here, and those ships are totally scratch built. They are fantastic. Maybe I should contact him to ask for a construction article for the site...
