Thank you for the well wishes guys, sadly my throat infection has made an unwelcome return ? ?so I'm pretty out of action interms of doing any uni work or anything major.
I've been feeling bad that I've not been able to do much of the Big Paint ? so I sat down this week and painted an objective for my Epic Guard. ?Annoyingly, my camera has decided that all the pics it's taking today will be rubbish, but I hope you can make it out. ?It's a Guard Lieutenant and his squad disembarking from their striken Chimera:

I also made another objective, I'll put pics of it up when it's painted - it's just a Radar & Missile bunker from the Epic Objectives blister.
Next week I'll continue with the Fire Storm Marines (that Tactical squad still needs two more Marines painting before I can move on to the next one, an Assault Squad). ?But I'm taking a sojourn from the Epic Guard to paint some more Epic Iron Hands tanks to take to the Full Scale Assault tournament in Mansfield. ?So there'll be quite a bit of Epic this next month, to make up for my relative neglect of it over the past few weeks!
Till then, enjoy! ?

Glad you like! I took a better pic and have uploaded that - you can see the details better now. I knocked it together 18 months ago, I think if I did it now I'd try and make the Chimera look more battle damaged by drilling a bit blast-hole in it, or having a go at sculpting thrown treads or the back hatch being open.

Quote (firestorm40k @ 09 Feb. 2006 (16:26)) | | Hello! My first post on this painting blog for quite a few weeks, and it's not to show any new minis! Actually it's a bit of a plug, I've decided to sell these guys as I can't realistically see myself getting round to painting them. They should magically appear with my other eBay listings from this link!
I other news, I'm re-jigging my 'Big Paint' priorities - I'm still going to work on my Epic Guard (albeit with a few alterations/additions) to make the list more competitive in Tourney type situations (lessons learned form Full Scale Assault las Saturday!). Also, when I've finished the Tactical Squad & Apithecary objective I've been painting for my 40k Fire Storm Marine army, I'll put the rest of that army to one side temporarily to paint some Inquisition Storm Troopers, Death Watch Marines, and other Inquisitional type stuff for 40k to use in the forthcoming 'Fall of Medusa V' campaign. At least, if I can find time and place to have any games...

...and speaking of my Fire Storm Marines, here are the remainding two from the Tactical sqaud I started what seems like ages ago! Firstly, stabbing-knife dude:

Next up, Veteran Sergeant, front & back!

.. and the squad altogether...

So now this squad are done, I'll finish off that Apothecary/dying Marine objective, then make a start on some Death Watch marines, and 20+ Storm Troopers... erk!
For Epic, Leman Russ tanks will be the order of the day. I'm off for a few days now, then when I get back I have the joy of writing up my dissertation (from scratch, joy), so I don't know when I'll get any painting in for the next four weeks... meh...

Just finished reading the entire thread, and I am simply overjoyed that you've taken the time to document your progress. ?I now wish that I'd kept a journal when I was painting my Orks (50 stands!!!) during my last semester at university. ?My memory has completely washed away the details (except for the one boy that flew off, never to be found... I ended up sculpting a "blowed up" Ork out of bits of sprue and banner pole). ?Be sure to save a copy of these posts so you can read them 15 years later.
I'll have to be sure to post my own painting journal when I do my imperial army (infantry sprues purchased years ago... tanks recently acquired thanks to judicious online auctioneering).
