Today I'm just feeling relieved - my long-departed payment for a couple of ebay wins arrived at last, taking a record 1 1/2 months to get from Malta to London! Must've gone by courier - on foot! Just as I was about to pay again too! So I'll finally get a pair of warhounds and a few Tau ships (GW, not FW). :D

PS - here's the ships I won:
1 Explorer Class Starship                    230 pts
3 Defender Class Starships                 135 pts
4 Orca Gunships                               100 pts

Incidentally, I've dropped out of ebay entirely - been spending too much - not cash, as I usually go for lesser fry, but time!
:(

Thanks Krooza!  :blush: Well actually it was you and Chubbybob who inspired me to try my hands at BFG in the first place so it's all your fault really...  :p

My "detail-a-squadron-a-night" strategy is really paying off. Tonight I added detail to a Venegance, a Dominator and the two scratch built Sleipner Escort carriers. My Imperial fleet of finished models is suddenly expanding rapidly!
Tomorrow I'll have a pic up of the finished "fleet" so far. ...Perhaps I should start a dedicated thread in the "Dry docks" section instead...

Anyway the plan is to do a few more cruisers and one Battleship before I switch to Chaos (and my other projects) This way I should be able to field a reasonable starter fleet fully painted.
Once this is finished it is time to bring out the drybrushes once again and give the rest of the fleet it's basic colour.

Cheers!  :)

I'm continuing to work out and have lost 46 lbs since Sep. !

Now THAT'S an achievement.  :O   I have yet to visit the gym despite my new years resolutions...  :blush:  :{

Any of us who have strong faith, I'd appreciate your prayers as the only Doctors I would like to see are on T.V. ! Need all the "Air Support" I could get ! :;):   Thanks !

My faith leaves a lot to be desired but I'll still be at it. Little air support is better than none at all. :)

Got back to working on the proxies. Right now, the Pentitent Engine is half done... should be 100% ready be the end of the week along with an alternate version (SoB walker).

Looking forward to today's sculpting session too - I feel like finishing a couple of things...

Oh, and just wrote a new piece of fiction...

"Gruesome death usually comes in small, pretty packages"
-Imperial Guard Veteran

The lone drop pod plummeted through the atmosphere. Smaller then those normally used by Imperium, it was also almost completely free of any markings, par one: a red double-cross combined with side-turned eight was emblazoned upon the single hatch. Little larger then a coffin, it could clearly accommodate only one passenger. But for its purpose, one was enough.

Something was striking about that thing... whether by purpose or some terrible mistake, it was not equipped with back thrusters... it could not decelerate before landing, making it little more then a man-made meteor.

+++

The capsule crashed onto the rocky surface of the world with a force that would splinter the bones of an ordinary human or even a super-human Adeptus Astartes. But the being inside was no mere human nor a Space Marine. It was something altogether more powerful...

The pod, as unbelievable as it might seem, survived the impact with only superficial damage, just like if it was built with such treatment in mind...

Suddenly, the hatch flew into the air as if it was blown away by an explosion. For a split second, a slender figure with two strange blades attached to its forearms stood against the night sky. And then it was gone. The shattered remains of the capsule were the only traces of the new visitor to this world of eternal twilight and red mist...

Soon the foul masters of this planet shall know a new experience... fear. For now there is a new power here, one hell-bent upon their destruction. Nothing can stop it, nothing can avert it. Not their guards, nor their black castles built upon the rocky crags...
They cannot stop her of their own blood...

Guess ?who the main character is...

Thanks Mojarn, you are correct ! ?I'll take any and all "Air Support", I can get ! :D ?And I'm headed for the gym shortly, have not missed many work outs, since I got sick in Nov. ?:) ?I may have to move a little slower sometimes and lift less weight, but I get thru it. ?I guess, I can still "drive on" like the soldier I once was ! :;): ?My goal is to be as close to 230 lbs by 31 May 05 ... And 200 by early fall. ?We're having your kind of weather Mojarn, here in the Northeast USA, -1 F ! :o ? Got my big Russian coat, and my old Army winter hat and gloves out and an interesting array of scarfs ! :D ?Whoa ! ?Flash Message !!! Just got the mail and my Hammer's Slammers Rule/Handbook ! ?A bit small, but looks good ! ?I'll let you all know what I think after I have more time to peruse it ! ?Thanks again !

I've got 6 undercoated Gladius' (Gladii?) sat on my desk, with 4 Cobras about to get their undercoat; should be able to have them & a tactical detachment done by the end of the week or so :)

Got W/D 301 today ... Shows some of the new Epic Eldar stuff ! ?The Wave Serpent and Falcon look like "up gunned and beefed up" E40K versions. ?All of the other pics look just like E40K. ?There are no pics of some of the stuff ... so who knows ?! ?Don't even see any Super Heavies listed ?! ?And it shows the Swordwind cover too. Can be preordered in Feb. Still reading the Hammer's Slammers Handbook ... pretty good ! ?If you're a H/S fan, I say buy it. ?Worked on my E:A Ork Warbands (TO&Es) (still waiting on my Ork C-pack !). ?Worked on basing my IG C-pack too. ?We still use flags on our Command stands as in SM1. ?Even now that they make Flag Barers. ?But we still make flags for Commanders anyway ... it looks cool ! ? :;): ?Use some WWII decals as well as some of G/W's. ?The "Old Ways" are hard to forget ... :;): ? :D
