How well do the FW Valkyries stand up? I'm considering ordering two packs for my Storm Troopers (when I order them)

The F/W Valks and Vultures are nice, much bigger then G/W's. (But the size variance between F/W and G/W is legendary! :o ) ?

Like a UH1H vs. a CH-53! :o ?

Not too many delicate bitz!

Okay, this long weekend was full of mishaps.

On Wed/Thu I have managed to complete all the freehand on Bethor and Lucius, including Lucius' nameplate. To add a Dark Angel twist to the Standard Bearer insignia on Bethor's shoulder pad, I have painted a broken sword right in the middle of the symbol. Looks nice.
Then I have painted the nameplate on the Gabriel model... this was hard, but I finally managed to pull it off.

On Friday, we had to go to the city, as I needed a receipt for my medicines... well, the bus company decided that instead of the regular schedule, the buses will travel using the Saturday one, which effectively meant our way back home was screwed. Finally we got back via taxi, several hours later.
Later, same day, the electric radiator in my room broke, making it impossib le to work under the heat conditions present there.

On Saturday, it was impossible to do anything, as we were in progress of cutting out the old central heating installation. Only 3 years worth of usage and 20 of rusting. Well, so we did manage to do it. Then my mother was dissatisfied with the fact that the power extension cord we had to use to run the electric radiator in bedroom warmed up when running. She demanded me to use my power security panel, even though I objected. As always, _she_knew_better_. It ended up blowing a fuse in about 15 minutes, naturally to her great surprise.
I flew into rage and said a few choice words to her about idiots who don't check maximum allowed voltage and amperage before using an extension cord. For some reason, this made her quite unpleased. Well, whose idea was using the panel this way anyway?
Furthermore, the broken fuse came out to have literally blown inside. I was unable to pry half of it out, and finally had to remove the fuse socket and hotwire the cabling so that the panel worked at least as a normal extension cord, so I could use it to connect the lamp I need while painting.
Naturally, the lamp just happened to fall from the table, breaking the only 100 watt lightbulb we had. Fan-damn-tastic.
I ended up using a 75 watt one, I hope it will work at least.

On Sunday I also did not have any time to work on models, as I got up from bed at 12 hr.
All I managed to do was dismantling and cleaning up one stand-alone electric radiator from all the spider webs, so it will run without emiting a nauseous stench all around.

Well, today I'll have to remove the radiator mounted in my room and do some work on it, to remove the power cord that because of my grandmother's stupid concept has been permamently wired into the electric installation, add a plug socket to it and finally perform a general check of the damn thing.

Hello all !
I just finished my first batch of FW Grey Knights, great models but very fragile.

And since the work just started on an official Alaitoc Craftworld list, I decided to redo a bunch of Eldar Scouts I had removed from the old square bases a while ago. Those were some of the first models I had painted ever (about 12-13 years ago, IIRC), and my painting was absolutely awful. :O

Well, when I plugged the radiator in power socket and turned it on, it began to emit a nauseating stench. At first it seemed bearable - after 15 minutes I changed my mind, though, as I was close to throwing up.

So I took my multi-purpose screwdriver and began working on the radiator that broke. After removing the power cord from a permament wiring into the power socket and attaching a proper plug at the end, I removed the radiator from the wall, opened it up and took my trusty voltage probe to examine it.

Something was wrong with the thermostate, it seemed. So I have unplugged the radiator from the socket and began messing around with the component.
Then when I plugged it back into power and began probing again, when the probe touched some part of the thermostate is probably caused some shortage... and the thing began working! Yay!

Finally I can heat my room to a decent 17 degrees (my optimum working temperature) instead of 12 (definitely too cold).

So the work will resume on the minis.

I got my share of pocket money yesterday too, so I'll try to nail down a proper motherboard to buy and install in my PC. Two more weeks without it and I'll simply go nuts.

I have found and offer of a very, very cheap hardware, but even at about 40 PLN (that's like 9 $ / 6 Ł for you British folk) I won't buy a 386. (sarcasm) What would I use it for, playing PacMan?

I've found that you can use the silicon as rubble or scenery for necromunda quite nicely.  Other than that, Doorstop is about it.
