Then again, there's good conversions (Warmaster's, Krooza's), good scratchbuilds (remember Stormy's Pegasus?), and weird stuff - hula dancers, Vindie AAs..... I guess the last category is where my Primarch-hood lies.

For everyone there is a niche - its always good to find yours and enjoy it! :D

I'm still looking BTW :p

Thanks guys. Dafrca, buying completed stuff doesn't work for me - I have to mess about and convert or paint or do something to them! ?:(

It was just an idea. If you fill some of the ranks with already painted stuff, and use your custom stuff as the show pieces, you will have a large army and have the fun you wish with the conversions etc.

It was just a suggestion.

2 - I am officially abandoning any attempt at reaching a Primarchial scale.

I think Primarchism is a state of mind ?:L
Besies, aprt from your good self, how many others in your lcoal area have such a collection? ?Localised Primarchial states can be achieved!

Excellent point, Tas! Compared to my epic opponents, I DO have a primarchload!  :D    I agree, Primarchism is a state of mind.

And, to put my 2 cents in for weather, here in Connecticut, we might hit 100 Fahrenheit tomorrow, which is about 38 Celsius.

Heh, I know Dafrca, thanks. There is a storage issue, too...... :( I guess - as Tas pointed out - my fate is to build a Primarchload of weird odds and ends - calling them show pieces is far too generous!

Not bad, Connecticut!  :o

I prefer to get one or two of each model/types (including all Mk.s) or detachments (save for Rhinos, Raiders [and Infantry dets, of course !] and the like, where I have numerous) !  So for example I have about 5 Whirlwind Dets, 2 dets of Mk.Is and one det. of the other Mk.s.   So even with 9+ Epic Armies, I'm no where near "P"-loads !  And since we would usually play 2000-3000+ SM1 point games, huge numbers are not required, when you deploy a combined arms force. With or without Titans, which we  rarely deployed, even though I have around 20, + or - ... :;):  My tactic is get 1 Det. or so of everything and play the game with those. Oh and it's going to be about 90 degrees F here in NE Ohio ! I like IT ! :D

Here is another idea, make some of the custom things and "trade" them to others for extras you need.

I know I would be willing to do so to have some cool custom stuff.

PIC OF THE WEEK - FIRST VICTORIAN 28mm MODEL (FOR ME)

Hi all,
early pic of the Vanvlakina week - and here's my first HULK VICTORIA character - and an ambiguous one to boot. Wouldn't trust him, though. Here he is Hawley Griffin.
And no, the idea is not original.

INQUISITION 40K

Well, after the Invisible Man, someone only slightly less shady - an Inquisitorial stormtrooper. He isn't as dark as shown - I still need to improve lighting for dark model pics.

Here he is again. I have ten of these chaps - an easy scheme should mean they'll be ready fairly soon. ? :D

No conversions for once - unless you count the pimple on the Invisible Man's nose. It's there. Honest.  }:)

I would trade for an Atlas. I know there would/could be more I would trade for.  :D

I like the I-man ! Neat Concept ! :D  The S/Trooper is well done ... nice and tactical ! :)   BTW, speaking of Invisible Man ... I saw online a company make models of the "Predator" Alien ... "cloaked" or in "Chameleoline" ... they were molded in clear plastic ! :;):

I particularly like his invisible cat familiar...  :;):

yeah, Ainsty used to make them -you could get the same figure in lead or clear plastic for cloaked or not as you wished.  Neat

I have also seen Ghosts done in clear plastic. Interesting effect.

That's a really easy one, Dafrca - you just need a superheavy tank chassis and a suitable gun (a fat, short Vindicator-type cannon fits well with the massive look) - this one came from Mojarn, and I think it's from a Squat Land train wagon. It just needed a minimum of filing and filler to complete. I'm not an artistic or capable convertor - I'm an opportunistic one - if the bits are there, I bang them together until they fit in a way I like. ?:D One thing I tend to move away from is the overload-of-cannon appearance of GW models - the Atlas is one example; my Squat Cyclops are sans-missiles; a third example should appear soon.
Then again, there's Deffsta.....  :p

The Invisible Man is something else entirely, of course, and I'm glad someone appreciated the cat, which took HOURS to make. Thank you Tas.
The transparent model idea is good too. But it requires skills I certainly do not have.

My version is not original - I'd seen something similar for a Frodo model. He's wearing the ring... the nasty bit was that this was a commercial model - not even GW came up with somethig like this!
