Those ruins are really neat. Are they scratch built or is there some company which produces them?

Cheers!

Thanks for the pics Jimbo.

As a matter of curiosity, what size bases do everyone use for scenery? I'm planning on using 4 inch and 8 inch square boards for mine.

Cheers

Chris

Scratchbuilt out of cardboard.

Then using a mix of wall filler (polyfilla), flock, PVA Wood Glue, and bitz are added to the ruins.

The ones I just posted are 12" square.

My city ones are 10" x 9" [1].

Simon's city ones are approx 24" x 18".

Size is more dependent on whether you are putting them together or placing them on a table.

[1] I am now building a 48"x18" city board.

Cool pics Jimbo!

Anyway... what I'm now making (and have been mentioning cryptically for the last few days) is basically a cool little Adeptus Mechanicus research base, with a small radio telescope as its main feature...
I'm using an old speaker cone as the sensor dish, supported on a load of plastic stock framework, along with loads of wires, boxes, antenae etc etc.. I plan to have it sit on a small platform that allows it to rotate to point in any direction.
I'll be buying a couple of FW buildings for the research labs, workshops, accomadation. etc... It will all eventually go on a fully modelled shaped base, probably around 40cm by 30cm... I may add shuttle landing pads, vechicles and more to it- any suggestions and ideas are very welcome indeed! ?:D
I've so far made up the dish and most of the framework and it looks great, so I'm going to be pretty busy on it the next week or two working on it...
Tommorow I'll stick some pics in my briefcase for you to see what things look like so far... :)

I got some great inspiration from the ZOMBIE TOWN MASSACRE III game that I played yesterday (23 October 2004). I wrote a thread elsewhere in the terrain forum here about the terrain lessons I gleaned from the event.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
