-Oh and sorry for not introducing myself properly.. |
No problem mate. I have to say I had wondered who you were at the event but having made a fool of myself at previoius events for introducing myself to the wrong people, I figured you could read the T-Shirt and say hi if you wanted. It wasnt until I got back that night that I read the forum post with the description and started kicking myself! I'll know for next time!
The Snow is baking soda. It looks good, but it doesnt stick down very well, hence in the photos there are some spots missing after it got knocked on the way home. The Epic logan was the first time I'd used it, and whilst I wasnt 100% happy with the results, I didnt have time to do any trials on other things!
The base itself is a photo frame, I painted the back up as marble and stuck it to the front. Big-Logan's scenic is a mix of greenstuff (2.5 packs of it! ouch to the wallet....) and tree bark. Mini-Logan's stand is a cotton reel built up with more Greenstuff.
As for painting, there's nothing groundbreaking I'm afraid. Armour on both was Shadow greay highlighted by mixing in Space wolf grey in gradual layers. Skin on the big one was Tanned flesh mixing in Elf Flesh. Hair was space wolf grey, an old colour called Elf grey and then final highlights in pure skull white. Golden areas are start with Dwarf Bronze, (old hex flip top)chestnut wash, dwarf bronze then up through the "gold" paints. Bone is bubonic brown, (old hex flip top)Chestnut wash, bubonic brown then thinned bleached bone. Wolf pelt was simply drybrushed codex grey and then selected areas lightly drybrushed with fortress grey. On the wolf's face I mixed in a couple of laers of space wolf grey to get a lighter muzzle. Leather areas are scorched brown, beastial brown and then snakebite leather.
I think that pretty much covers all the main areas. Sorry for not having any "wonder-tips"!
