Dunno if anyone has posted about these before, but Games & Gears - https://www.facebook.com/GamesNGears - have released some pics of their cityscape boards for Dropzone Commander. I'm assuming these would look stupid for Epic, but maybe someone in the know could advise?

I think they work fine for epic, I believe EUK has obtained a couple of sets and have some exciting things planned with them.... |

Yes, don't think the boards pictured have been released yet, but the official DZC boards should be exactly the same scale. I'm looking forward to seeing those pics, am very interested to see how Epic minis look on these streets! Cheers! |

Hi chaps, Strangely enough, our group has just played a couple of games on these boards (using the old, intact, epic buildings together with the smaller dropzone buildings). Great fun. Very little long range shooting. A real 3D environment. Enemy units that you had forgotten leap out and surprise you. Some sneaky tactics emerged (most fighting is very close range - in a city environment, scouts (and their zone of control) come into their own, pushing a 'force bubble' in front of them and shielding friendly troops. They seem to replicate my understanding of light, sniper units (slowing the enemy down but not causing many casualties). Great stuff. Phil |

Thanks for the info Glorfindel. Only "problem" is that the set looks too clean ![]() |

Scale wise they looked pretty good when I saw the basic boards at Expo last month. Me and my friend also considered buying the card set for the 1ft sq fibre boards. What they are talking about on their FB page is 2ft molded prepainted boards that are based off those Dropzone Commander boards. I think they look good and should work well with epic (if you are fair with the buildings). Although they are prepainted I have been told that is only a base coat and would be easy to repaint, so easy to give things a bit more of a grim dark look. |

Funnily enough, I've just this moment posted some pics of my minis on the Cityscape tiles from Hawk Wargames: ![]() ![]() ![]() Those are the buildings from 1st edition Space Marine on the card tiles from Hawk Wargames. I don't think the buildings look suitable, but Hawk Wargames have all of them available as PDF downloads; if you print them at ~60% size they should be fine. |

Here's the link to their fb page for anyone who's interested. I think they are doing a kickstarter for this in one or two month's time. It seems to be that they'll be $100 for a 6 foot by 4 foot tiling system. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =1&theater |

From the comments, the boards will supposedly be the same size and height as the Realms of battle boards from GW and therefore potentially compatible! (Not sure on the clipping arrangement). They have also talked about doing other non-urban boards (they have posted images of a sort of hell scape board they are doing for Helldorado) and have said that the stretch goals will include other board designs, including an urban/rural transition board so your battlefield doesn't have to be all city. I am definitely keeping my eyes on these. Matt |
