Where was this game hiding?! http://mr-bugman.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04 ... pzone.html Check out some of these models, I think they look pretty damn cool. The game is 10mm, which is a really interesting choice. Looks like preorders start on the first of June and I guess they are launching with 4 full armies. Normally 10mm would be too close to 6mm for me to justify starting a new army project, but I own boatloads of CAV models, so technically it wouldn't be like starting a new scale at all... |

*cough* viewtopic.php?f=88&t=22530&start=30 I got a chance to see these up close yesterday and chat with the nice lady on the stall. These are listed as 10mm but honestly they look 'true 10mm' if anything and wouldn't look out of place in heroic 6mm. The quality of the resin casting and the designs themselves are incredible. They had a superb paint job, but even allowing for that they are a great range of miniatures. Apparently, the designs are two years in the making and the entire range is the result of a single guy - who is a photographer by trade and a keen gamer. They are currently looking for painters and playtester, and I will probably be contacting them to get a bit more information. Hawk Wargames were my highlight of the day. |

I chatted about the terrain. These are hollow, modular sections. All the lines - minis and terrain - are to scale. Balconies would hold the figures, transport ships actually hold the units they are supposed to. Also, many of the miniatures have positionable sections - for example there is a tank with a gun on a two-piece mount. It will all be very fragile and is clearly aimed at the experienced modeller. The buildings will be sold in packs and should be interchangable with sections. They have a 'realistic' look to them, which is really nice. I think that the line will do well, but a lot will depend on the price. This quality and detail in resin is not going to be cheap. |

Yes, this is one of the few issues that I have. The vehicles look small for 10mm, while the infantry look 10mm (or even more). Given the designers obsession over scale, I could easily believe that they are all in scale with each other perfectly, but from an average background the infantry look a little larger than the vehicles. |

Vehicles are often smaller than one would expect IRL. For example, if you compare them to Bradleys, Rhino models can fit ten marines (40K ones, that is). |

Threads merged and located here. There are also a few pictures I took on Saturday here: viewtopic.php?f=88&t=22530&start=30 I have contacted Hawk Wargames and have been told that they will send me a press pack when they have more to reveal, so we should be one of the first with news on this line. |
