I should be there right now looking at your sweet Warmaster Army...but life has decided to play it's cruel games on me once again.

So what did you get for prizes? I take it you won the Warmaster Tournament? And as for the swag, did you get a free bag from BattleFoam? I was gonna be there on Thursday just so that I was assured one. Hear there was going to be about 500 first come first served.

What about Privateer Press? Did they give out free box sets again? They did last year and that was one heck of a surprise. That actually got me into the game after that weekend a year ago.

Man I gotta stop talking about it. I'm already bitter enough as it is... :{[] :{[] :{[] :{[]

No Battlefoam or PP stuff. At the door I got some free resin bases and a Battlefoam patch. The WM tourney gave out of Inquisition sketchbooks, MBA terrain and $10 gift certs to the players, and at the Epic event I got some Chessex dice.

I got to the center at 5ish on Thursday, discovered there were already 700 people in line, and gave up on the bag. I saw some PP box sets, but I didn't sign up early enough to get one - like last year they were in the bigger bag, for the first thousand (?) to sign up. Mine from last year is still in cold storage, until the day I feel like a couple new Gargants.

Dave's Elf army is even more impressive in person - clean and crisp and phenomenally detailed. How he painted the eye on that mage I'll never know. Of course we all know Elves are very fastidious, maybe the mage helped?

That's crazy SG! 700 before 5pm!

I did sign up on the day they opened the online registration, so maybe I would have got something nice. That's awesome about Dave's elves. Hope somebody took some hi-res pics with some comparison pics with some other forces.

I'd like to finish up the basing, eagles and Eagon this month. After that I'm planning on doing some big shots with them.

The only casualties this weekend were a single elf spear and a SM scout head. Other than that it was a good time. Now I get to see if the girlfriend wants to go back Sunday night for the board gaming with the D6G guys.

I got the swag bag, Hordes starter boxes this year and the Malifaux Rulebook were the big wins in there. Sorry you couldn't make it EBB. Seeing Dave and Spectrar's Warmaster is pushing me to hold off on the next Epic project and get something together.

You know you want to, all the cool kids are doing it.

Did you guys end up dong the board game thing last night? I was there around 7:30-8 looking for a room where people were still gaming but didn't find you.

So what did I do this past week? If you guessed "Paint Eagon" you are wrong. If you guessed "Base your army and give yourself Flock Lung" that is correct... I'm not done yet, I still have to get the tufts on the Spearmen, Silverhelms, Reavers and characters, but I got the flock on and glued twice on the whole army.

Despite what inhaling the stuff may have done to my respiratory health I really like what the Army Painter Green Flock did for the bases. It's grainier that the Woodland Scenics stuff (which I could never get to look right) and works better as thick grass in 10mm I think.

The Archers, Chariots and Bolt Throwers are completely done at this point. As an FYI I'd recommend putting down the flock first then the tufts. I did it the otherway with these and it took a few minutes to get all of the flock worked out of the tufts.

everyone knows that flock is like asbestos, it only makes your lungs stronger!

Beautiful bases Dave, they really round put the finishing touches to some stunning models. Now, what about that lone red carnifex of yours?

End of the month I'll start looking at the 'nids again. That'll involve a bit more building, some casting and a lot of painting still.

cool, I look forward to seeing the results. I'm presuming that your casting set up is working well then?

The first round was a marginal success. Apparently rubber gets thick in its old age. I have some thinner for it now that will do the trick. I just have to find the time to try it.

I was pretty happy with how the decals came out though........

Did you create them yourself or buy them somewhere? Some of them look very small. Also did you paint over the normal sort of translucent boarder that usually outlines the design?

I made them myself on white laser printer decal paper. The toner cracks near where you cut it so you do have to touch up the edges.
