Have any of you other modern types ever considered porting Epic into the Ultra Modern period of war, say post-1980? Just looking at it conceptually, it seems feasible. Thoughts? |

If you can have modern spearhead I see no reason why not! THe only difference/sticking point would be if you see EpicA's focus unit wise (what are the mainstay formations) matching the modern day one. |

I think it can work rather well. ? Spearhead, and hence modern Spearhead, uses stats similar to Epic. ?Each unit has and anti-tank factor and a anti-infantry factor. ?They each have a movement rates. ? Where the difference starts is in armor and armor resolution. Armor has different stats based on front or flank. ?Epic accounts for that with the crossfore rules. ? The difference between a firing unit's AT rating and target's unit armor is compared to develope a modifier to a die roll as opposed to the armor being the number you need to save. The only real problem I see is this. ?With only a 1d6 variance and some special rules how to you cover such a broad range of vehicle armors. ?For example they can range from an early M113 to M1A2 tank. BTR-60 6+ (light vehcile) M113 6+ BMP 1 6+ M2/M3 5+ T80 4+ M1A2 3+ reinforced. Even a Landraider maxes out at 4+ I would also increase the crossfire bonus to -2 armor because of the vast difference between a tnaks front armor and side in many cases. ? I guess it really comes done to scaling the weapons systems into an exsisting game scale, in terms of dice. A play testing it to see if it works. |

Hi Guys, Yes, I've already done it. I've used it to simulate many of the battles of the Arab-Israeli Conflict. Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. |

Hi Honda and Luis, I wrote those rules up years ago... mostly using the Space Marine 2nd edition template. Sorry, but I don't have a digital copy... only hard copy. However, I did Xerox the rules and hand them out back then. I still see them floating around gaming flea markets and whatnot. One of these days, I'll convert them to digital format... I had the rules adopted to a D10 as well... even back then. Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. |

Where are these rules. I find that intersting. I have a couple of gaming friends who don;t really liket he D6 limitations. I would be interesting in finding stats for using the D10 for 40K and Epic. Who can help me? Thanks |
