| Post subject: | Anyone ever play Advanced Squad Leader? |
I was thinking about picking up a starter set out of curiosity and was wondering what anyone who has played it thinks of it. I know its not miniature based, and being a counter driven game, seems to have a pretty hardcore following. Can anyone describe the game play? Thanks! |

One of my favorite games. Started playing it before I got into Epic. Each turn is broken into phases which allow both attacker and defender to take actions. The basic turn is: attacker fires, attacker moves, defender fires, attacker can fire with units that have not already fired. ASL can be very complex, but basic infantry vs. infantry is relatively simple. If you're serious about wanting to play it, I recommend picking up the first starter kit. |
