Seems the navy's getting a run for its money... Anyway - I just received a copy of Warrior Miniatures' Fighting Fleets, a thin leaflet of rules for triremes, quinquiremes, deceres etc for Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Carthaginians and friends. The actual rules fit on two sides of an A4 sheet, and are based on DBA. The rules come with a set of six metal ships in 1:650 scale. Pics later - they're very nice!

DBA rules for ships? OK, Im intrigued... should be very fast.
I'd be really interested in a review/opinion of that (are you a normal DBX fan V?). Not a huge fan of the DBX rules mysef, but Im of the opinion that ships of any variety can make something good

DBM is big round here as a couple of guys in our club compete (reasonably successfully) in the world championships. It really focuses on how different troops fight against each other (cavalry against skirmishers, elephants against infantry, etc.), which would be interesting with ships. I always felt it should be more down to the units being opposed against each other by their actual abilities (like, say, WH stats), than a table telling you than elephants always stomp up and down on cavalry. People I play against claim that the reason I aint a fan is because I have played it around 20 times and not won once! Make of that what you will...
