I've added an extra class of vehicle between LV and AV: the Light Armored Vehicle and ATGW. Working on smoke rules. Infantry is weaker but harder to hit. Weapons stats are more granular as a consequence.
However, if you come up with basic stats for some key vehicles, I think E:A is totally portable to Cold War as is.
