I had been considering buying some Fantasy minis from Irregular Miniatures.  Particularly skeletons, but maybe some Ratmen, too.

I was then furtunate enough to see some fairly good pictures of them.  I had to seriously reconsider.

So the question then becomes, does anyone know of a company that produces good 6mm fantasy minis?

Here's  a couple fantasy manufacturers I have fished out.

http://www.turbilminiatures.co.uk/id38.html

Unfortnately I know of no others. It seems Fantasy minis are mostly scaled from 10mm up.  :(

I don't think fantasy is as suited to 6mm as sci fi is. In fantasy there are not as many 'big' showpiece models like tanks and vehicles to attract the eye. In game you will be oblivious to much detailed painting work.

However, like napoleonics and ancients in 6mm - at a distance BIG blocks of troops can look very good. However, at that distance the quality of the individual figures matters very little (and simpler bright paint jobs will often look better than more detailed paint jobs too).

Baccus has a very limited fantasy range and I found the link to that other site myself, but I can't get it to work. ?I thought maybe they were OOB.

So model quality may not make a huge impact? ?I'm just looking for a few new elements to add to my 6mm sci fi ranks.

Irregular does have handgunners in their fantasy range. ?So I should be able to make them fit. ?Shipping's kind of hefty, but I might give them a try.

Anyway, fantasy miniatures in the 6mm scale are very useful to us Epic players. I have been wondering about purcharsing some to make a real-feel feral ork army. A shame i'm a very poor person :(

Hi Guys,

There are a large number of 6mm ancients lines...

And any old small mini will do such as "familiars" from 28mm lines...

Another lime to look for is the old demon game from Global Games... they had "hordes" figures that are perfect for 6mm fantasy.

I belond my 6mm fantasy and ancients figures. One day, historical Gauls... the next Hyborian barbarians with Conan at the helm! :)

Seriously, 6mm works great for fantasy but there is a better figure selection in 10mm or 15mm for fantasy...

Shalom,
Maksim=Smelchak.

I have 2 of Irregular's 6mm fantasy armies.

They are quite good for massed wargames.  They arent showcase figures,  but look great when viewing from tabletop distance of greater than 3 feet.  Real LOTR battle scne stuff!
