Tonight we were able to get a few guys together to play some Warmaster games. It gave some of us a chance to try out some different forces and for others, it was a chance to realise just how frustrated they can get with failed leadership tests :{[] <-- This was not me by the way

One of those games was a Chaos Invasion in Empire territory. As can be seen by the pictures below, the Chaos force moved swiftly towards the empire.

With confusion running through the ranks of the Empire defence and a General who could not muster his forces to comply with his demands, the chaos forces smashed into the empire line with tragic results for the defenders.

Things looked grim with further Chaos forces making their way to the rest of the line

The game continued on and the battle started to sway this way and that, yet after a desperate defence, much of the Empire force decided to leave the battle disheartened at inability of their own general to issue orders under pressure.

The 2nd battle tonight saw the first trial game for both the Dark Elves and the forces of Araby.

While the forces of Araby surged forwards in resplendent formations, the Dark Elves were plagued with a family feud and the disorderly conduct of it's own troops.

After the younger sister of the General for the Dark Elves failed her order, a demand for her death was made. In the face of such a demand, the Dark Elf General decided to stay strong to her family ties at the risk of weakening her household and ignored the demand of her troops. In doing so, she lost the respect of her troops who refused to comply to her wishes.

While the General's 2nd sister controlled the right flank of orders, she over-extended the force and the whole right flank (including the cherished Hydra) was wiped out by a combined attack from the Camel Riders, Knights, and Archers!

With a final cry of :nooo the forces of the Dark Elves decided to leave the battle prematurely as a final defiance to the lack of bloody action by the General.

I will try and get more varied photos next time for each of the turns, It's just, when you are in the moment, it is easy to forget the camera sitting on the shelf :)

I'm happy to see some warmaster stuff on here, got any more batreps?

I'm sorely tempted to collect a Bretonnian army in 10mm because I never got the chance/had the cash in 28mm

I will get some more dedicated batreps when I am able to manage more games.

I have 12 armies to try out and I really want to have a go against Dobbsy's Skaven when he gets them together (he has a rule about not playing with silver armies)

So yes, there should be more batreps eventually as long as people keep playing it - which I hope they do as I have made a considerable investment to ensure everyone can have an army to play of almost any race

Brettonia looks to be a very strong force with their cavalry. We only tried them in a scenario game a few months back and they kept having troubles with their command rolls and never came to the aid of the Dwarves :( When they finally did arrive however (too late mind you), they were smashing anything in their path.

my only slight concern with the brets is the OOP-ness of the trebuchet, the worrying thing is that there doesn't seem to be a decent trbuchet model around to use as a proxy either.....

I'm mostly interested in warmaster as a collector rather than a gamer, I'd love to reproduce my 2 large WFB armies in 10mm and be able to keep them both in a single carry case..... :D

I'm keen to read more, so I'll keep an eye out

The best 10mm Trebuchet I have found is this one:

I am yet to purchase it to see the size, but it is advertised at 10mm scale

I bought a 15mm scale one and that is ridiculously big.

In all honesty, a little patience and time, and you could make one.

Only 1 is allowed in the force no matter how many points so it is not an unreasonable task...
