I just wanted to post this for completeness' sake. Having been completely bitten by the 6mm bug, I dont really fancy getting back into 28mm fantasy gaming, so I started looking around at options. Of course, everyone knows about Warmaster, and there are plenty of links on this site about it. Others: Pride of Lions at http://www.ganeshagames.net/pride-of-lions/. I am NOT a fan of Ganesha Games, myself, so the link threw me off at first - but its not a GG product, merely hosted there. I love using dice of different sizes, though the basing in this one seems really different than most other games of its type. Some BatReps of PoL: http://www.greathallgamers.org/forum/forums/forum-view.asp?fid=2 Fantasy Rules! 3rd Ed at http://www.sabersedge.com/chipco/fr3.htm This one seems very popular, and looks to compete with Warmaster pretty head-on. Rally Round the King by Two Hour Wargames at http://www.angelfire.com/az3/twohourwargames/RallyRoundtheKing.htm Ive never been a fan of THW's products, for two reasons (note: Ive never played them but have read their rules in a number of different games): The stats seem overly simplified, and the printing quality is "Old School" (read: text only, not much in the way of graphical anything, and I admit I like my shineys, even in gaming rules). However, this one really has me intrigued, and its at the top of my list to check out. http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=220479 has some good info on it. Those are the 3 that I found to be strong contenders in addition to Warmaster. Add yours if you know of/play something different! |

Mighty Armies seems to be another, over at http://www.rebelminis.com/miarbaruset.html. I only know this because thedespot29 mentioned it as a candidate for his MicroWorld minis ![]() |

Hordes of the Things (HOTT) is a DBA based fantasy game that works at a range of scales. The rules are now available free online as a low quality pdf or you can find the old print rulebook fairly cheaply second hand. Abstract, but allows you to represent pretty much any army imaginable. Looks like it would be a love it or hate it ruleset depending on personal preference. |

HOTT is pretty cool if you don't mind abstraction (this board w/ their 999999 land raider configurations will hate it). The fact it can allow for anything from stone age cavemen to h g well's style mars invaders and so on is great. I played DBM for quite some time so I'm used to Barkerese but others might not enjoy it that much. |

People are working on conversions for both Field of Glory and Impetus on their respective forums...neither are that active last time I checked. The stumbling block for most of these conversions it how to add in magic and the more heroic characters that tend to define fantasy gaming. |

http://www.yourmovegames.com/battleground_index.html Battleground is a pretty interesting system with low 'cost of entry.' -- Clearly the units don't necessarily have to be cards on the table. |

Bad Carrington: Cardhammer certainly does not qualify ![]() ![]() Field of Glory looks amazing, and has a HUGE following at my FLGS (easily rivaling the Warmachine guys, which themselves have a huge group). Playing it in fantasy might be neat. |

Quote: Also, besides microworldgames.com who else makes 6mm fantasy? I've looked into this and pickings are rather thin outside of microworld games. Irregular make an extensive range of 6mm, but judging by the photos on their site at least they look … well, poor ![]() ![]() So aside from that i am supplementing the mwg range with bits and pieces from non-fantasy ranges. Got a few packs of pulp ww2 winged vampires to use as harpies for with my mwg beastmen. DRM have some useful crossover bits, skyth for assorted gribblies (eg. leapers for gargoyles or imps), ketzali in robes with staffs etc. Exodus wars zombies and carrion would probably also be useful. Let me know if you find more, would be very interested ![]() |

Hi everyone (newbie here on this site) What a really good topic, great to see other fantasy games below 25mm. anyway there is my game called Three Plains, which me and my friends have been working on for some time now. its free, 15mm scale and its a print and play game, but there is no reason anyone cant use the models they already have instead. anyway here is: http://epicwargaming.com/ ![]() hope you like it =O) |

The game and concept look pretty interesting, DaveC64, although I know the spam will start when I submit my email to you ![]() Could you give an overview of the races involved, or that you have lists for? I didnt see it mentioned on the website. I assume it has warmachines as well as chariots, magic and monstrous creatures? |

Have there been any reviews since then? (i assume DaveC64 is sykesdragon but on a new account?) http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/ ... hp?t=18853 |
