I want to know when the Araby guys are shipping to Canada!

The Mail Order guys hadn't heard anything when I told them this morning...

Quick update: I didn't forget.... I'm back to work, my personal laptop now has a dead motherboard ( a very "nice" present la Befana sent me... ), and the sprues aren't here yet (I was cheap and chose the most economical shipping method).

As long as the price was as quoted I'm not really bothered how long they take to ship  :D

Darn, I'd missed this one too, could you also let me know if a second round is pending?

Ok guys, some good news and some bad news about the Epic sprues.

The good news: I finally managed to get the GW package. It arrived last week but the stupid postman didn't write whether it was for me or my brother, and since he got another mail delivery notice I assumed this one was for him, too. Turns out it was for me, but of course, since I was the intended recipient, he couldn't pick it up for me when he went to get his package. Gotta love italian mail.
Anyway, I now have 40 brand spanking new ruins sprues sitting in a box, ready to be packaged and shipped.

The bad news: the things are actually bigger and heavier than I could remember. Each sprue is basically an A4 plastic sheet, weighing 100 grams. This means shipping could get... painful. I'll inquire about the cheapest option, but I really doubt I can send 5 of them to the US for less than ?8.70 [approx. 11.23 US$ at the current exchange rate] and ?5.70 to the EU, as this is the rate for normal mail (i.e. the lowest available).
I also need to know if you're willing to let me cut the sprue (to send it in a more compact form) or you need it whole. Please note that I would send the whole sprue content (including the frame) even if cut up. And of course, I'd cut very carefully. But I leave the decision up to you; just keep in mind than if I send it whole, the shipping could go up somewhat.

I'd be happy to see my sprues cut up in order to help postage costs.

Feel free to cut it up in whatever way necessary.  I just want the ruins!

And thanks for all your hard work!  PM me when it's time for some money to change hands.

I agree, cut whatever you need to cut! But whatever the shipping costs, I'm happy - remembering how much we are saving on the sprues in the first place!
Thanks again for doing this for us - it really is appreciated.

Regards,
Reaver

Feel free to cut mine too, plus I can live without the frames!

Thanks for organising this.

5 sprues is 40? or 60?+postage. At Italy MO prices 5 sprues is 9?+postage.

Am I only one thinking 5.7? postage(or even 8.7?) in addition is minor annoyance to say the least?-) Worst case it's still bit over 40? saved right there   And unless postage increases in same proportion it just gets better the more sprues you get  :)

So any chance of second order round?-) I could do with bunch of ruins now that chaos actually seems to be coming...

I'll definitely issue a second order round as soon as I've completed sending all the sprues included in the first one. I don't want to have two rounds outstanding to avoid complete confusion on my part.

As for the increase in shipping: the maximum weight for international priority mail (the cheapest shipping option if you're not a company) is 2 kgs. At 100 grams/sprue, assuming 300 grams for the padded envelope itself, this means a maximum of 17 sprues, assuming you can keep length + width + tickness under 90 cm.
Over that, you go into parcels. An express 3-day parcel weighing 2 kgs to the US is 52.50?. The cost for a regular parcel depends on size, weight and destination, not to mention surface or air, and the price is not available directly on the web site; but if you send it to a non-EU destination it will cost you 5.16? just for the customs clearance service, so I higly doubt it can get cheaper than priority, at least for those outside EU.

For anyone interested, you can actually check all this info on the italian mail web site:

http://www.poste.it/en/

Just click on "letters" and parcels an you'll be able to get the info. "International mail products" is for companies and requires a minimum shipment of 500 items. Prices are only available on italian pages though; prices for priority mail:

http://www.poste.it/postali/prioritaria ... tero.shtml

EU countries are in Zona 1, US is in Zona 2. Reading those tables you can also understand the rationale behind cutting the sprues: if I manage to ship the item in a smaller package the price decreases; but I'm afraid it will be impossible to get anything different from "Formato Voluminoso" due to the tickness limitations.
I'll need to inquire about regular parcel rates; as soon as I have all the needed info I'll contact everyone involved with the details.

Good to hear. MO's at italy are probably wondering sudden increase in demand of those ruin sprues

Sounds btw it would be almost cheaper to send 2 letters rather than parcel   ??? . Go figure. Well I haven't ever concidered mail pricing in Finland to be most logical thing either so why would it be any more logical in elsewhere. Heh.
