I've got a skaven team. Yep it's a great game, just haven't had time to play it recently.

My Pro Elf Catcher leapt over an ogre to pick up the ball in a cage and throw it to a waiting blitzer who zoomed up the sideline to score. Can't ask for better than that. Just need to get dodge on them to keep them safe. Oh, and Str 3 on a catcher is awesome - watch them blitz the opposing catchers on2 dice blocks and not worry about it.

Spike Cup tonight. My thrower is going for Spike player of the year if he can get more points in this match to beat the current high player - minotaur with 15. Thrower has 14 going into final.

D.

We went straight to Semi Finals with Pro Elves(me) beating Nippons(humans)

He gave me a thrashing.  Seriously though, what was it?  4-nil?

We only been playing it a couple of months, but in my ten or so years of 'gaming' that means it's the system I've played most... or more than 2 or 3 games.  Same thing.  For a gaming night (generously hosted by D.) that starts early evening and ideally ends before midnight, it's not bad.  And it's not bad otherwise.  Fun and thinky.  My biggest gripe is, despite assuming I'd like more tactical systems, I look at the board and struggle to make sense of the confusing tangle of models and bright green background. :))

Being one of the two losers I had a taste of the street bowl rules last night.  Not so much extra brutality, despite the extra armour modifiers, but very quick.  There's not much room to do much more than form a line and collide with the other line. :)  We started about 7, finished before 9, IIRC.

After borrowing D's placcy humans for a couple of games, I decided on my human team theme: as mentioned, nipponese.  I'm using Perry samurai and ashigaru, weapons and scabbards clipped off, as throwers and linemen respectively.  I'm also converting some of Hasslefree's martial artists for most of the rest: ninja and converted ninja as catchers and a couple of converted sumos as blitzers.  I might try sculpting the third sumo for a bit of variety, as well as a japanese oni-style ogre.
