For those of you impatiently waiting for the Baccus SF range to rear up and start biting your wallets I can assure you that the release date for the initial range is now coming ever closer. If all goes well the range will be released at the Warfare show over the weekend of 18th and 19th November. I'll give you more details as we approach that date. But here's a few things to be getting on with: - The initial release will only cover humans. - The old models have received a major overhaul, so you'll get nice clean castings. Some of the old moulds were well past their sell-by date. - There will be a new name for the range. - We will be providing full support in terms of backgrounds, factions, paint schemes, weapons stats, all available from a dedicated website. - We'll be doing a full set of rules, which will be initially available as a free pdf download I'll keep you up to date with developments from now on in. Cheers Peter Berry Baccus 6mm www.baccus6mm. com Just as a reminder, this is the former Hardkill range from Gladiator Games. Several nice looking teaser pics can be seen here. Just scroll down through the news. They are easy to spot without having to read everything. |

@L4 Well, that is yet to be seen. ?Maksim told me they are a bit smaller than Epic scale. ?He also said you can get samples if you inquire, so I'm giving it a try. ?If I manage to get any, I'll try to put up some comparison pics. BTW, hope the bright colors didn't hurt your eyes. ? Don't hold it against me, but I'm kind of partial to the red ones. ![]() |

Well let's see what you get, Con ! Size in this case may be relative ... like F/W vs. G/W scale creep ! A Baccus HVY MBT may = a LT. AFV for Epic ?! And Red ones only go fasta if U R an Ork ! ![]() |

How about we use the OGRE explanation: It's a holographic representation, and the computer has applied national heraldry so that the human commander can more easily identify who's troops are whose. |

No problem ... but all my stuff is done in Tac/Camo colors ! But everybody knew that ... I'll be spending all my spare $ on DRM and E/Wars ! I have draw the line somewhere ! But if Baccus makes something that looks like a Slammer's M9 Cbt Car ... I'll buy some of those ! ![]() |

I thought the big blowers looked suspiciously like an M48/M60 with the treads replaced with skirts, and the M9 was a really rounded (like 'meltdown' rounded) version of an M113 ACAV. I never said Tactical was bad (that's half the reason I chose Dark Angels), just that there's an almost-legit reason for us to paint in pretty colors instead of losing our tanks in the terrain! |

Well the M113 and M48 were organic to the 11th ACR that Drake served with in the RVN ! So he may have got his inspiration there ! And good point about painting AFVs in circus colors, but I'll take the chance of losing them on my board ! ![]() |

That is basically correct, 454 ... He based the M9 Cbt Car on the M113 ACAV (which we had in my Mech Bn in the ROK). And they are not really ray guns (lasers) actually, ... but powerguns, which in Epic lingo would be rapid fire plasma guns/cannons. Plus all of the Slammer's AFVs had AI, which made C? light years ahead of anything Drake or I had ! ![]() ![]() |

And I wish we had cannons on are M113s ! We basically had an M2 .50 cal, HMG is the Cdr's cupola and could mount a M47 MAW "Dragon" to the side of the cupola. ?The ACAVs that the 11th ACR had mounted the same M2 in the cupola and two M60 .30 cal GPMGs in the troop hatch behind the cupola. ?One on each side. ?Just like the M9 arrangement with three 2cm Powerguns instead or one .50 and two .30 cals ! ![]() |
