Powers to be ~ Why do we have 40k here, but not Dirtside (II)? |

Because no-one set up a thread for it. Battlecomms us the area for any wargame other than Epic or BFG (as they have their own space here). So find the right forum (what scale is it, by the way?) and set up a thread. |

Absolutely! Start a thread or two in the sci-fi board and, if there is enough discussion, I would be happy to create a board for it. This goes for absolutely any game out there. If we have interest, I am happy to give it a dedicated board. The current specific boards are just starting points. |

Right! People, start discussing Alfakta! ![]() Thanks, "why and how to" are both always good to know for a forum. |

*ahem*  [Shameless self-promotion to follow] I have some scenarios on my website that I originally wrote for my own homebrew system, but which I've more-or-less ported over to Dirtside.  They still need some tweaks (such as references to infantry air-defense, etc.), but they may give folks some ideas to start with. http://home.comcast.net/~kudby [/end shameless self-promotion] |

That is a great story on so many levels. ![]() Oh and I did read the page on your favorite subject. ![]() Daniel |

I'd love to see a DS2 Battle Report -- it'd probably be a great way to start off a thread. |

Gives it the tie into Ground Zero Games (GZG)? Anyway, it has a home in my collection as well. Daniel |

I have now spent time reading DS2. Great read, great rules. Unwieldy if tried with "magic". Unwieldy use of dies straight of. Sorry. Problem with activation/s solved. If you got fewer left you can force the opponent to take a round instead of you. Question on why (on earth) close combat in EA is to be solved in one go. It is in Dirtside 2. Duh! |

All of G/W's Epic rules, save SM1, had too much emphasis on Close Combat. G/W's prediletion with Close Combat in 40K bleeds over in Epic. They don't seem to totally get the concept of ranged weapons ... ![]() |

But it's as hard in DS2, right? Win it or loose all. And all in one go, one activation. As it looks right now I'd go as far as to say that Epic:A is DS3. Some parts streamlined, some parts kept but mangled. Some parts improved. |

Yes, E:A took a lot things from other systems ... ![]() |
