Just wondering if anyone has converted over any Epic to Battletech stats? |

I haven't, since the big projectile weapons in CBT have the reverse relationship to range that they should (Bigger gun = shorter range in CBT, when it should be bigger gun = longer range), not to mention a wonky construction system anyway (maximum weight/mass for a 'titan' is 100 tons, and Riverine vessels max out @ 300t). You'd have to build titans using the Battlespace/naval rules to get them to scale correctly. If I was going to convert to a different system, I'd use DP9's Silhouette system instead, which scales better, all the way up to 26ktons before you have to go into their scaling mechanism (where you build the vessel smaller, and just multiply by however many orders of magnitude to compare to regular vehicle scale). |

I would probably try CAV2 even though it (IIRC) does not have a build system. Point values have been fudged before. ![]() |

Oh well, I was just interested in maybe spicing things up a little. We have some new Battletech players in the area and the local shop is trying to get the BT market going. I'm playing for nostalgic sake, since last time I played was about 20 years ago! |

You could do a little scaling, and use pure energy weapons (which have an appropriate range curve). As much as I hate to say this, you'd probably want to use Clan tech. Warhound is roughly a Puma/Pouncer (35-40 tons, 2 arm weapons, similar hunched-over pose), and an Emperor is roughly one of the big assault-class (Loki?). Reavers are harder to place, since most clan mediums and heavies have 4 distinct weapons systems. Mech's are simply too light for their size, so assume that "100 tons" is actually more like 1000 tons. |
