I'll check it Daf - thanks

Ive been chuckling about this one: Xtreme Zombie Hunter!
http://www.grimeygames.com/index.php?xzh

ZRC - love it!  Sort of like retro Weird WW2 (RWWW2).  Instead of undead Nazis we have Zombie Zulus and WereRussians - sweet!

I havent seen that before now.... maybe we should patent it  :p

Weird Victorian Wars? I think I'm beginning to like it...

Dafrca, ?What do you think about the ATZ rule mechanics and anyone else who may have the rules? ?If I remember you only have one stat that you use for everything. ?It seemed a bit over simplistic to me. ?From what I read it seems to be a interesting set of rules. ?But reading about the mechanics is what has kept me away from the rules.

For the most part that is true. Your Rep score is the most important. There are others, but they play a much lower role in the game.

Simplistic, yes that is what was their main selling point. The company was names Two Hour because they wanted to have a game that could play out in two hours or less.

If you want a game that is hyper realistic and very detailed, this will fail. But if you want a game that, for as simple as it is, still feels ?right? and can be fun as heck. This is the game mechanic for you.

The overall scope is a mid point between Skirmish and slightly larger. I believe the game would start to break down once you hit above 20 to 30 per side. The WWII version I have seen played with 20 to 30 per side and still ran it?s course in about two hours.

The ATZ game I first saw did build up that ?Stress? of having Zombies all around and the players were very excited by the end. It worked.

If you are further interested, they have a free download WWII try it game on there website. Also I would be more then willing to answer what I can for you as well.

Sounds like a good game mechanic for playing with the kids, though I dont think they are ready for Zombie horror flicks quite yet! :p

Where games can have extra rules for bolt on complexity, I like to run it to one side by myself and get the enjoyment from that without taxing their little minds and loosing their interest with too many die rolls. ?GM sort of style

The "one stat fits all" mechanic is not necessarily a bad thing. Wessex Games has a WWII fantasy game "Panzerfauste" with similar idea and IMO it's very good game.

Ive just found this great forum with some awesome pics in it - Zombies galore and the hunters who cleanse them

http://grimeygames.com/forums/http://ww ... .php?f=6.0

I am in big danger of being radically distracted (again) and going down (yet another)  anevue.

But these are all 25mm figs!  Which weakens my resolve for the 15mm VSF! Damn, damn, damn!  :O

Start with the Free WWII download then. It is an easy way to try it without spending hard earned cash.

ATZ gets a big plus at this TMP thread.  It would seem to have a big following:

They have a Yahoo Group for the Two Hour Games. The game discussed the most is ATZ and CR2. CR2 is the core rules used in ATZ.

And Yes, there is a "Cult" following for the game.
