Well; i went to bed last night wondering exactly what our zombie robots are going to look like and so this morning i came up with this:

It's not great but it did only take 20 mins and i'd be more than happy to work on a more polished concept in the future but for now what do people think? Do zombie robots have bigger shoulders perhaps? Do they have thier weaponry physically attached (plugged in?) to one of thier arms and limbs instead of carrying them? are there any wires or power cables coming in or out of distinct areas? Maybe from the spine round to the weapon for example?
Let me know what you think,
yrs,
R>

EDIT: why it's on it's side i have no idea...!

Surely DRM has the robots with big shoulders?

How about a more t100 look?

I'm with TRC on this one. If I wanted andrayads I'd get them.

Seriously, a skeleton with a gun, no IP issues and they could even paint them bone for their example shots to completely nullify any claims.

I'd not be interested in buying 10 sprues that weren't skeletal.

 But, hey, if stupidity were a capital offense, we'd be knee deep in the dead by now.

Wait ... the day is young ... :ghost:

Well if you look at the G/W Epic Chaos Android(now Necron) and the 40K Necrons ... they are pretty close to Doppelgangers of the t100 ... of course it's not the first time G/W has "nikked" an idea ... :cool:

Precisely, they're almost an exact copy, because the basic design is pretty much uncopyrightable. It's a freakin' skeleton!

Well as I said before I have 15 Chaos Android stands, all the DRM Andys and Exodus Wars is working on Androids now and will probably be released before W/F's are(if they are) ...  Now as far as what E/W's & W/F's Andriods will look like is still very much up in the air.  However, I'll be buying E/W's &  W/F's to add to my Allied Andy Army ... At this point the only thing that looks like 6mm Necrons is the Epic Chaos Andriods ... So we'll have to wait & see ... as always ... :fu:

Okay, I'm off to post this to the Liberty League!

EDIT:  And it's away!  Here's what I sent off to WF:

This project would be for a Car Wars/Dark Future/Mad Max accessory sprue in a scale usable with 15mm or Matchbox cars, to allow players to kitbash vehicles for use with Car Wars, Axles & Alloys, Dark Future, Wreckage, etc.  The sprue would contain a variety of weapons and accessories, such as:

- Turrets and cupolas;
- Rocket and missile launchers;
- Dozer blades, saw blades, and spikes;
- Machine guns, Gatlings/Miniguns, vehicular shotguns, and anti-tank guns;
- Light and Heavy Lasers;
- Flamethrowers;

Figuring that a turret or cupola would be roughly 10mm to 20mm in size, the sprue could probably carry five or six of those, two dozer/push blades, four saw blades, and then still have room left for two to three dozen weapons, since each weapon would be roughly 15mm to 20mm long and only three or four millimeters thick.

Just curious, how long after you submit the idea does it take to show up?  :rock:

I went today and I still do not see it.

Daniel

They said it could be a few days, so I'm figuring that Monday or Tuesday might be our day.

Anyway, on the androids, here's an initial concept of the basic shape of the skimmer:

This is just for the basic shape;  it would obviously need more character and surface detail.  Notice, though, that the top deck towards the flattened end is a clear flat space;  gamers could choose to mount a figure, a gun, or a small turret there.  This thing could easily do duty as a light autonomous gun platform or a cavalry scout skimmer with a futuristic dragoon standing on top.

Thanks,
jav98

Maybe it's just me, but I think that design may be a little too obvious.  No offense to you Jav, I have loads of respect for you.

How about going with just the repair scorpion and leaving out the plain skimmer.  If you cut off it's tail you have the base of your wraith and a tomb spyder.  If you cut off the tail and it's manipulating arms, you have the base of your destroyer.  Plus those manipulating arms could go on your Talos :devil:

The more disguised things are, the easier it will be to skirt IP problems.

Maybe the repair scorpion should be a short walker instead of a skimmer.  If players "choose" to mount it as a skimmer, well that has nothing to do with it's intended purpose.

I honestly think it would also help to put something on the sprue that has nothing to do with Necrons.  Something like a Terminator skimmer would make a great "red herring" plus if done right, could be converted into a proxy Tau vehicle.

We need our imaginations in sneaky underhanded mode for projects like this.

I have to agree. This is so clearly the same it could spook away the opportunity. I think we need to not see how close we can come, but rather create something that could be simular, but yet is it's own thing.
