So, did anyone else submit an article for consideration?

I drafted up my long-time work in progress article on building Bad Moon armies and sent it in.

Man, I know it's only been a few hours, but I posted both here and on the SG boards about the same time and so far I've gotten 2 responses of "what contest?" and one person who said they started one but never finished it.

*laugh*  Getting the impression the communication channel isn't very good?

I wonder why they'd have a contest.. given the rate of new material, I'd imagine they'd take everything they could get over a certain minimum quality level.

This is yet another thing on the list of 'I would like to, but I probably wont get around to it'. Nevermind, I hope that many of the articles will be published, as I really like reading this kind of thing.

Hi Neal, posted on SG site as well.

It looks like it could be just the two of us, unless some unknown sneeks in under the radar  been known to happen.

But assuming that you won, what would you get for your prize, 2000pts can be alot of models.

I wonder if I could get Tau if I won :p

Heh.  If they allowed Tau, I'd be all over it.  I've figured several different army configurations and they all tend to run about $100 per 1000 points.  That would be a cool $200 of Tau figs.  But realistically, I am assuming that first prize would be a choice of one of the 2000 point "starter army" packages they have assembled.

If I were to win, I would go for figs to build the White Scars chapter I've wanted to build for a long time.  As a runner up, I think I'd ask for a Landing Craft (for the WS chapter) as my choice of titans.

Hell no - go for Siegemasters. About 200 pound of models by there prices I reckon.

My article is only half done as my wife didn't allow me to sit down and write it over christmas and New year (saw comp notice late, rarely go to sg site). She went back to Bangladesh at weekend so I've half done it (as well as playing a siegemasters game to remind myself what I'm doing). So I've emailed Andy asking if it would be alright to get it to him tomorrow/tonight. Heres hoping.

No! no! ? ? If its only 2 of you who posted, ?then I might be the second runner up ? :/

Just kidding. ?I did post an article. ?But I am more intrested about reading the ones you posted than on a TITAN.

Well, ?a titan would be really cool. ? :;):

So far I only know of 4 sent in, plus TRC's late try.  Given the ratio of non-forum-participants to regular posters on other things, I'd think that there are probably under 10 total entries.

That's a shame as far as I'm concerned.  It's hard to claim there is a strong community out there when the response to SG's requests for material is so small.

True, but it's also hard to claim you (GW) value your customers when you keep raising prices and do little to support SG games.

I think the community is much larger than it might appear due to participation in SG contests.

I think the deeper underlying issue is that SG has lost much of the community's confidence.

And particularly that the SG Forums have lost most of the community's confidence.

This is due to a lot of reasons, but foremost among these have been the instability of SG and the poor communication between SG and their fan base. SG can't control their instability (GW-derived), but they can control their communications with fans, which have been lacking.

So, on my part, I'm not ashamed. I put in and I invested in E-A. The rest is history.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
