For all those who don't already get it.. here is the latest newsletter... ...Free postage?! Yes please! ....pity theres no new minis though.. ? ![]() ------------------------------------------------------------ Hi folks and welcome to Forge World Newsletter #96. In this issue we have some info regarding a few forthcoming events Forge World will be attending and a special birthday announcement. Happy Birthday Forge World! Yes, this month sees Forge World's fifth birthday, and we want to celebrate this happy occasion with you and say a big "Thank you!" for all your enthusiasm and support over the last five years. For the next month, any mail orders placed with Forge World will be shipped anywhere in the world with free standard delivery! Yes that's right, zero shipping and handling, postage and packing, or whatever else you want to call it, till July 12th. If you want to upgrade the delivery of your order to our Express Delivery option then of course you can still do that for the usual cost of ?10. This is the perfect shopping opportunity for those of you out there who have not been able to get to one of Games Days or other events Forge World attended so far this year. Heck, it's the best Forge World shopping opportunity I've seen. You save cash to spend on more models, and we deliver huge boxes of Forge World models straight to your door! It can't get much better than that I reckon. On Saturday June 19th Forge World will have a large sales and display stand in Warhammer World in Nottingham as part of the GW Open Day. These Open Days showcase the best of the Games Workshop hobby and this event has been targeted particularly at the core hobbyist. At the Open Day you will be able to take part in participation games, talk with Forge World and Studio staff who can show you the very latest projects they are working on, and also take part in exciting hobby activity, such as painting competitions and conversion contests. The weekend after, Forge World will be driving down to Conflict! London, the biggest Conflict! event in the country by quite a margin. http://uk.games-workshop.com/news....res.htm There are already over 300 people entered into the different tournaments with another 600 odd Open Pass tickets sold. We'll be there with a selection of our most recent new releases on display and a whole pile of models that you can buy and take away with you on the day. If there are specific Forge World models you would like to buy at either of these events then please give us a call to reserve them. There is just no way we can bring everything Forge World makes to these events and we'd hate you to be disappointed. That's all for this issue. Expect another newsletter in the next week or two. Thx, Ewen Little, Forge World. |

Free shipping settles it: I've decided to order the Gargantuan Squiggoth and some Ork Bommerz even though I had originally planned to wait to make a bigger order when some more Epic models were released. (*sound of chanting: "Epic Grey Knights, Epic Grey Knights..."*) Cheers! ![]() |

Hi! I used to be very reluctant to order from FW. Not anymore though. Their prices aren't too bad as compared to metal and their service is pretty good. My only critique is the enormous size of their fliers. I wont be buying any more of those.... Primarch |

Hi! No question Stormseer. Scalewise the FW fliers are "accurate" in the same vein as the tanks are. But curiously while I am willing to "look the other way" in the size discrepancy with the SHT's, the discrepany is pretty "out there" with fliers. To compensate however, in netepic, we are putting forward larger, more heavily armored and armed variants of the smaller ones so as to make them "distinct" entities. Perhaps this way the "suspension of disbelief" will be assauged. Primarch |

Oh yeah, quite true- the flyers are hugely different in size; I guess GW wouldn't have sold as many if they produced ?10 for one metal Marauders back in the day... I have none of the old though; and personally I don't like the minis- they are simply too small to fit with everything else imho, so I'll be going with the nice big resin beasts.. FW beckons... ![]() |

Now that is an interesting idea. The part of the company that puts out the "limited interest items" ends up owning a whole line. That would raise some eye brows inside GW I am sure. ![]() Too funny, would not mind seeing that happen. ![]() dafrca |
