Post subject:  Another FW newsletter....

Hello once again from the Forge World team. In this issue of the Forge World newsletter we have several new models to show you, some of which are available to pre-order right now. We also have details on a few events that Forge World will be attending over the next few weeks.

This weekend Forge World will be at Conflict! Bristol.
http://uk.games-workshop.com/news/uk/ev ... efault.htm We shall be displaying a selection of our vast collection of painted models as well as taking orders for whichever models we have been unable to pack into our van. A couple of weeks later we shall be at Conflict! Northampton and the week after we're off up to Conflict! Leeds.
http://uk.games-workshop.com/news....res.htm
Remember folks, if you want to buy specific Forge World models at these shows, please let us know so we can reserve them for you. We just can't take all of our models to every show anymore!

Next week Tony, Simon Egan, a couple of other guys from Forge World and myself, all fly out to Baltimore for the biggest Games Day in the USA. Held over Saturday the 22nd and Sunday the 23rd Games Day Baltimore has got to be tried to be believed.
http://gamesday.us.games-workshop.com/G ... ..._04.htm
The enthusiasm and passion for our hobby in the USA is great to be a part of and to contribute to.
Tony and Simon are running the Forge World Design stand where they will be talking about current and forthcoming projects, displaying some of their work and answering your questions. Meanwhile Tris, Kev and myself will be running the Forge World sales stand within the Games Day store. Like I said a little earlier on, if you REALLY want something from Forge World at Games Day please contact us so we can reserve it for you. All you have to do is send us an email at forgeworld@games-workshop.co.uk titled "GD Baltimore Reservation" with the list of what you want to order, remembering to include your name please! We'll confirm all reservation orders back to you by email to set your mind at ease. We can take reservations up until midday UK time Wednesday May 19th when we leave the UK for Baltimore so please make sure you contact us before then.
One last thing. At Games Day Baltimore you will be able to see some pages from Imperial Armour Volume Two : Space Marines & Forces of The Inquisition, the second of our huge Imperial Armour hardback books.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/imparmv2.htm Not only that, but Games Day Baltimore will be the very first place you will be able to pre-order this mighty book.
Don't panic if you can't get to Games Day Baltimore, we will start taking pre-orders at our online store and over the phone a little later.

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/hivetyrant.htm First new model of the day is Simon Egan's Hive Tyrant with Scything Talons. As with all Simon's work, the Hive Tyrant is beautifully detailed and seems to really capture that cold alien malevolence that the Tyranids are renowned for. With the existing Hive Tyrant
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/wingedht.htm and this new Scythed version, we have plans to "mix and match" parts to create several more Hive Tyrants in the very near future.

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/fstorm.htm Next today is the latest creation from the desk of Will Hayes, the Eldar Firestorm anti-aircraft tank. Armed with the Firestorm Scatter Laser system, this vehicle can lay down a withering hail of
fire to cover Eldar forces from aerial attacks. The standard Falcon chassis has been modified with additional anti-grav emitters on either side of the engines to improve the Firestorm's stability while the turret moves rapidly when engaging fast moving targets. Rules? You can download a pdf of the version 1 experimental rules for using the Eldar Firestorm in games of Warhammer 40,000 here, http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/downloads40k.htm

Scenery expert Simon Harris has just completed several projects. First of all we have a Warhammer Bloomery. What's a bloomery? This is,
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/bloom.htm It is a furnace used to smelt iron ore to produce metallic iron. The bellows force more air into the furnace, allowing it to burn hotter than normal. A bloomery like this would be a prized asset for any race in Warhammer as it would allow new weapons and armour to be made from the iron produced. And where would they make these weapons and armour? Why in a Warhammer Forge of course. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/forge.htm With the other buildings that Simon has made over the past few months like the Cottage, Stable and Coaching Inn, you could create a pretty good Warhammer village. And what's
one of the most important features in any Warhammer village?
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/well.htm Good clean water is the lifeblood of a village and a sturdy well like this would be a central part of the community. We will be making even more Warhammer scenery in this range throughout the summer.

A few months ago Daren Parrwood made the Tau Sentry Turrets for 40K. Now he has made them again, this time in Epic 40K scale. Some people would have thought that one model would have done the job, but not Daren because he has made Epic 40K versions of all four different Tau Sentry Turrets. Take a look at them here,
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalo....11.html
while the Epic Tau Sentry Turrets are available now. All that lovely new Warhammer scenery will be available to pre-order very soon and of course I'll let you know all about it in one of the next newsletters too.
Thx,

Ewen Little,

Very nice! I'm liking that Firestorm tank very much. I'll give it a couple of months, there will be one for Epic.

Cheers

Er, yes, if you don't count the Black Templars....
FW are't exactly renowned for following the SG Epic schedule tho, so I'm sure they'll make one in a month, as Chris says.. and I'll buy some- resin is easier to work with than white metal imo, even if it is more fragile...

What? An Epic newsletter with no IG vehicles?

Something must be done about this. I am off to grap my torch and pitchfork....

Nice new Firestorm model. Hopefully will be put in what Tuffskull refers to as the de-biggulator machine soon.

Cheers

I will have to add those Epic Tau turrets to my order! ?

Sorry James, I have 6 IG Rgts, and I think the F/W boyz need to pay attention to the other armies!

But I have the Epic Valks on preorder though too!

Hi!

If they concentrated on IG models not already available, it would be fine, but otherwise I think the other armies need more variety.

Things on my Epic "To get" list from FW (including allready released stuff and stuff I'd really like to see):

- Beetleback (Heresy pattern) Warlords, Reavers and Warhounds
- Chaos versions of the above titans
- Chaos Greater Daemons
- Chaos Defiler and other various Chaos vehicles
- Eldar fliers
- Firestorm
- Epic characters (well SG is also releasing a character pack but I imagine FW can do even better)
- Grey Knights
- Gargant variations
- Gargantuan Squiggoth (oh yeah at least a couple of those!)
- Ork Bommerz
- Plus, of course everything they might come up with which I can't even possibly imagine.

Uhm... sorry I believe this was OT...

Cheers! :)

Not sure about beetlebacks. I would like to see FW do a Lucius pattern Warlord and also more Reaver weapon configs.

And definitely some Chaos titans. If FW did Epic version of the 40k scale Chaos Warhound (or Feral as I guess I should learn to call it) I would so buy them straight away. In fact my Epic Blood Angels would be dropped like a shot so that I could do Epic scale mini-me of my 40K Iron Warriors.

-drools at the amount of big guns the Iron Warriors could field in Epic scale-
:D

I'm off back to the FW website to stare longingly at the Chaos Warhound. It shall be mine.....

Cheers

Hi!

I agree on the chaos titans, anything they make in that regard would gain automatic sales from me.... :;):

I'm not bothered by chaos stuff, however it seems like everyone ones some. Epic characters from FW would be loverly! :p  :p I'm a bit of a nut over inf. No one in my group seems to play chaos so I assume there is very little for it? Even so I did buy the new fighter 'cos it looked cool :D
Cheers.

Those Tau sentries are great, but at ?4 for 3, they are really expensive. I would guess that they are a little larger than infantry. I would really like to see some civilians, panicked populace, office workers, delivery trucks, etc.
