Looks pretty massive next to the Races on it's 105mm oval base.

Rumor has it that the release schedule for AI will be a new race/faction each quarter with 1 fighter and one other AC.

Specialist AC then done by FW in resin.

Orks should be fine being a more fungable scale. I'd actually love to use the imperial bombers as they're finally big. So there is possible interoperability

Yeah I think the Orks have some more leeway - If they do Chaos it will be interesting to see if they use the hideous dragon / chicken 40k one or if they'll use the Forge World flyers.

Just yesterday I was just plotting a possible air themed Barran list build using AI models to take to UK Epic tournaments with 6 Thunderbolts, 4 Marauders, 15 ground turrets plus 50 odd infantry stands and a pair of Deathstrikes. Seeing these ground turrets makes it more likely I actually will paint up and use such as army.

Before you commit... 6 thunderbolts and 4 marauders is 1100 points of air, in an army that can only take 25%, so isn't possible at a UK tournament I'm afraid. You could get more in with Krieg but not that many at 3k.

Oops! I'd missed the fact that Barran's can only have 25% air as I've not used them before.

That many aircraft is only 950 points though, Epic-UK Marauders are 250 points (and still virtually never taken). Back to the drawing board on finding an aircraft heavy imperial list... I might look at doing an air heavy Vannaheim list instead.

I wonder what this is - some sort of cardboard playing mat, I guess?

Yes, it's purportedly a cardstock play mat that's significantly larger than the two-sided one provided in the starter set.

Thank-you GlynG for all the news posts!

Ah 6 thunderbolts, I read 8 for some reason! But still, yeah, 25% for baran unfortunately. It'd work in krieg though.
