https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/s ... -showcase/ Well it finally happened. FFG is releasing a new miniatures war game set in the Star Wars universe. Appears to focus on more skirmish level (which I like). The existing Rebel Assault figures are interchangeable with this (good for existing players like Rasta for instance). Unsure if these are in had plastics or vinyl |

Read they were not interchangeable with the assault stuff, that these new ones were more to the size of GW 32mm scale stuff. So the old minis might be a little too short to be a stormtrooper! ![]() |

The new legion figs are definitely a bit bigger than the imperial assault figs, but I don't think it will be enough of a difference to be super noticeable. Especially if you can keep the figs segregated into different squads. As for the game itself, really feels like "FFG does Star Wars 40K". Squad based, probably 50 or so figures a side, 1000 point games, with FFGs signature mechanics; custom dice, maneuver tools, upgrade cards, and so on. Would have much, much preferred a smaller scale with at-ats and speeders and the like. |

sadly 10mm star wars would be ace. AT-AT and tie squadrons and lefions of storm troopers should be a thing |

Hmm.... the counterpoint to that that people always mention is that the rebels don't have equivalent units or numbers, there is no rebel AT-AT. I'm wondering, could you do a radically asymmetric 6-10mm wargame, with a full army of figs and super heavies on one side and a small force of skirmishers and ambushers on the other? Will need to think about that some. |

Yeah while there's some large scale actions it's not the rebels forte' and would prefer to operate more surgically (hence rebel assault). Of course by the late period they were acting like an army (invasion of coruscant comes to mind in the legends continuity). Clones would work but I don't think it's as evocative though still fun |

The clone wars period would work in 6mm large armies lots of mechanisation and gunships, walkers, big tanks and landing ships. |
