Well we all knew it was going to happen sooner or later once the not-necro game, Shadow War came out. Obviously dovetails well with the admittedly good industrial terrain kits. Escher and Goliath are first out and being shown off in the announcement. https://www.warhammer-community.com/201 ... ge-post-1/ |

Yes but unlike that, this is an actual product they've announced instead of wish listing ![]() Jokes aside, it's pretty clear that a ship game is in order. The fact that the battle of Phall, which was the largest fleet action ever taken in the 30/40k universe , was covered without a game to go with was a tragedy. Hopefully if a game like that happens they'd backfill. But let's get back on topic with Necro. Myself, I've always loved the arbites and if a line of plastics happens, I'd be hard-pressed to not get. |

I don't know if this is pure wishlisting but this info come from Lady Atia. Her info is pretty spot on. Linky link. Anyway, I know I'd kill for plastic Van Saars. ![]() |

Plastic Van Saar gang is on topic ![]() I really hope that it is one of the four already done. Shame though we won't get new plastic terrain in the box (according to news from the FW Open Day). |

4 gangs are ready to go. Outlands is being worked on and will come later on. Genestealer cults will be after that, sounds like an expansion, not just one gang. Gangs will return from fanatic (please let there be orks!) as well as brand new gangs. No new terrain in the box- not sure if that means just shadow war terrain in the box, or a return of the old card terrain (doubtful) or just a rule book/gangs. Rules are based off 8th with more details such as skill sets. Rules will see a return of old stats like willpower. More fleshed out fluff for gangers- Escher are now known to make drugs and stims, and have items like that on the models. Goliaths are breed/genetically messed with to come out big and strong. Necromunda itself (not just the gangs) fluff/story to have a lot more added too it Info all copy from memory off the Inquisitor group I'm in, from people chatting there today. Some of the information is popping up on dakka, and there a quite a few photos of the minis. |

I assume the GSC are less new models (though that would be welcome) vs expansion via rules. I mean, they've got a pretty functional set of GSC models as is. |

Yeah that's what I am assuming, it would make sense that there is a model range already. From reading the small bit on the group, it sounds like the expansion will be rules that add cults as well as some other stuff. However any more than that I would just be wishlisting, as that's all it said. Hoping more info will come out later on. I already have a huge pule of the cult models, which I brought to add to my space skaven, but with no real desire to get back in to 40k, most of them remain boxed. This would be a good excuse to paint some up as they are great models. Just brought a small force of cult from vanguard and was happy to just paint them, but an excuse to paint the biggened ones as well is fine by me! |

Yeah, i've been looking for an excuse to get some of the GSC models for ages. Almost bought them to use (minus genestealer bits) as admech proxies in 40k, but much more keen on necro. Hoping that your assumption is right and the new Necro models are still in scale with the GSC, and therefore (roughly) the old necro. From the pics i was worried they might have gone BB on it at about 35mm , but the more i look i think its just the Goliath which are now hulking genetically modified manual workers (which is cool). The eschers look huge from the photos, but they are wearing huge heeled stripper boots. Maybe there will be new cult minis after all. Dunno, I think gw are replacing everything with larger minis, possible to stop so many other people release compatible minis/terrain. |

I thought the same, and there is a long debate on Dakka about it. Scaling the 25mm base implies the top of head is about 32mm. Then someone posted one of the old Gez Goodwin Eschers and it was identical. I think it is simply the Eschers are less chunky than standard GW so look taller. Sent using Tapatalk |

8th ed rules may be a bit wonky for a necro style game. Yay cover gives me a 6+ save which any minus will ignore? Cover used to be all that would save you! And random charge ranges? I'll have a look but it'll have to be top notch to replace my necro books And to me the new Escher have none of the slender shapeliness of the Goodwin ones. They look bloody fugly! |

The metal Escher gangers are without a doubt my favourite GW sculpts ever produced. I think the painting on those examples really lets them down, the skin looks streaky and the faves flat and expressionless. Necromunda, and eschers in particular, suits the mid-nineties painting style they got. The goliaths are a decided improvement though, over both original and fanatic sculpts. |
