Where's this reported at/How do you know? (link doesn't mention) Edit: All I can find on this is the Fumbol C&D all the back in 2009. You sure you didn't just stumble on that and miss the date? |

Hi! I answered this on the other thread as well. Since you cannot copyright rules mechanics what you need to avoid is using a copyrighted representation of them. Net Epic has existed for nearly 20 years. Its based on the second edition rules. GW on several occasions has "checked us out". The reason we never get into trouble is: 1. We never use their copyrighted illustrations or photos. More often times than not this is the biggest offender. 2. No copy/paste sections of rules from their rule books. We wrote the entire thing from scratch. No shortcuts. Its a huge task and that is why many don't do it, but copying a specific representation of the rules (as in exactly copy/pasting it) will mean they can shut you down 3. Disclaimers. We explicitly state that certain trademark terms belong to GW and no challenge by their use is intended. These "rules" came from GW directly over the years. They can be followed, but usually aren't since people are somewhat lazy. But you CAN make available your own ruleset, with your own illustrations/graphics, written in your own words with the appropriate disclaimers and be left alone. Primarch |

Actually on the NAF link, buried in the text says they'll be removing it in june so fair enough Quote: The CRP will continue to be used at NAF tournaments until further notice, but the document will be removed from thenaf.net at the end of June 2016, as it is a GW document. Talkbloodbowl.org closed and was replaced by talkfantasyfootball.org, with a new admin and a large number of severely pissed off blood bowl fans, but essentially the same traffic and content as before. |
