Greetings Tactical Command members. I hope it's okay to post our brief intro to Polyversal here in the news section- I want to make sure people here know what we're up to regarding the game and that it's an active project on KS. Designer Ken Whitehurst has been active on here for a while, and, we also have a board set up as well
for dedicated discussions (Thank you!).
Polyversal is a 6mm scale SciFi system that works with everything 6mm. You're not locked into using our models- because we don't make any. Polyversal's core concept is a design tool that will be web-based and allow you to create what we call Combatant Tiles for any miniatures you want to use in the game. A points system based on how you design the minis balances everything out. Ken will be doing a preview dedicated to this aspect of the design very soon that we'll post. One way Polyversal is offered caters to the customization gurus out there and those of you with large 6mm collections. You can bring new life to your minis.
For newer players and to help draw people into 6mm gaming both at conventions and in general, we also offer Polyversal as a boxed game. The basic game includes miniatures from multiple 6mm manufacturers, our partners Brigade Models, Microworld Games, Dark Realm Miniatures, Plasmablast Games, and Hawk Wargames (10mm, but their walkers cross into our 6mm scale nicely). The basic boxed game also includes printed Combatant Tiles pre-made by us for the minis we include with artwork by Bruno Werneck (Tron: Legacy, Thor, Star Trek, Titanfall).
We are working on more gameplay previews and actually just posted
this video today that covers Command and Control in the game. Previously, we posted an
introductory gameplay video that walks you through our Print and Play version of the game that you can download and try out for free (linked from the
KS page).
If you like what you see, please check it out on our
active Kickstarter for the game. The brief project video explains more about what we're doing with the game and reveals a bit of the story. We're seeking funding to produce the game and pay for coding and development of the web-based Combatant Design Tool. Also on the KS is some awesome new skyscraper terrain from The Phalanx Consortium developed for Polyversal's setting- futuristic Earth-based.
We definitely need the help and support of the Tactical Command community. Join Ken and I on the Polyversal Board here if you have specific questions about the game. We'll answer them all.
Best,
Byron
