Many of you know that I've been a regular participant on the forum for a long time, and most should at least recognize my name as being part of the Epic supplements that were put out (for anyone who owns one, I'm the guy that shipped it to you ;) ).

For the last two years I have been pulled away from Epic on another project which is nearly complete. I began writing a manuscript in 2012 and it will be published sometime this summer (probably June).

It is called Syncing Forward and it is a fiction novel set in the near future. Mr. Martin James is a regular joe injected with a drug that slows him down considerably. Unable to develop an antidote that permanently syncs him back to a normal speed, Martin finds himself face to face with his wife and children four months later. Then four years later...

For the Epicphiles I apologize but this is nothing Epic related or battle related.

Please like my Facebook page and stay updated on my webpage for news. Sharing both will be huge for me in terms of getting the word out. The goal is to get published through traditional routes, but I am self-publishing to start with and working from there. When the book hits Amazon and Barnes & Noble, it will be reviews that will drive how successful it becomes, so your positive ratings would be very much appreciated.

Even if the genre doesn't appeal to you, consider purchasing the book if for no other reason than to get me back into the supplement writing. ;D

Lastly, if you have any suggestions for advertising or social networking, feel free to let me know.

Thanks!!

PS Some of you know me as William Sturtevant but the sad fact is my last name has been misspelled the majority of my life, so I went with the pen name W Lawrence.

Congrats Mosc. I'm wholly ignorant of social networking, but wish you the best of luck seeing this through!

What about putting a short except of the writing on the site, in addition to the overview/intro para?

Not a bad idea, actually. I will have to rummage through the story to find a good candidate section (one that captures the feel of the book without sounding dull or giving away too much).

THANKS for the the idea.

If your on facebook are you on twitter too? Joined a sci-fi writers circle?

I'd have thought getting other writers on board to promote your book would be a great step?

Good luck!

I've been studying publishing routes myself for my own projects. Have you read this?

Wellspring, I did read Hugh's report. Illuminating to say the least. My editor has highly discouraged me from publishing in the traditional way, which she has done for half of her own books. She shared with me her experiences and found it to be frustrating. I have two friends that are authors that told me to self publish, a third that told me to publish traditionally, and a fourth that said it really doesn't matter these days.

One thing for certain is that the paradigm as shifted considerably in the last ten years.
