Because I have far too much free time - - I am very pleased to announce the relaunch of the SG forums. They are linked in to the main SG page here:

To clarify a few things... These are in addition to Tactical Command and in no way replace it. I fully intend to get TacComms up and running full time again shortly.

I wanted to get these SG boards running for two reasons. Firstly, if we do need to change the forum software, I wanted an idea of how this one worked. Secondly, it has become clear that a rallying point for when (if!) we have further issues with TacComms is a good idea.

The software you use for SG forum is good. The Dutch gwhobby site I frequently attend has the same. I like it a lot.

When will the official mail be sent to everyone who opted in?

At this point, you should probably assume that any and all information from the previous boards are on ice and wont be used for now.

The best likely result will be that when/if I get the old data converted, I throw up another forum, add the previous data and just lock it to provide a reference to link from.

The opt-in list was just to let people know who expressed an interest what we have done at this point and help them find it.

The board software was actually suggested by pixelgeek, who uses it over at TGN. I am relatively impressed with the software system - better than the previous SG boards using Snitz.

Yes. The three sections currently available - Tactical Command, WikiWikiWar and the Specialist Games forums - all require seperate and independant registration.
